It's kinda obvious tho, Move is Definitely more responsive than the wii even with the motion plus...

Simple example: The table tennis game on the Move. the wii has not been able to do what it can do cuz it's mainly precoded commands used in many wii games (top spin, I can't wait to use it lol)

Either way at E3 we will see how Move and Natal will shine :) can't wait

If you're so eager to play with spin, you could just buy yourself Wii Sports Resort and Grand Slam Tennis right now.

Does those games mimic your wrist movements or are based or precoded movements? I would think it's the latter

Uh its based off your movements, if you angle the paddle and put some english on it it'll do it on screen, not sure with grand slam since I haven't really played it, but I love table tennis on WSR since it's... well table tennis, just without the 300 dollars to buy a table, it's like night and day compared to Wii Play.

Haven't played Grand Slam Tennis, but having played Wii Sports Resort of course, of course the Wii Motion Plus mimics wrist movements accurately whenever it is needed. A very visual example is actually the frisbee beach game. Coming to conclusions when you don't really know the subject matter does not exactly enhance your credibility in this and Wii related threads where you like to make your appearance for whatever reason.

I have played wsr (only for a lil time tho) but I was pretty certain it didn't mimic my wrist movements accurately, sorry. Same with RS2. Freedom of motion IS limited in the Wii.

I don't get this the wii can do everything the move can do claims :S have you guys not seen the tech demos of late? Wii can't do many things to the extent the Move can do, check out the official move thread for the vids if you haven't seen them yet, will help 'your' credibility as well ;)

and for the info, this is the Sony section, talking about the Move's accuracy. I have played the wii and have been following the Move. I would like it if you don't question 'my' reasons. I have a PS3 and I'm exicted for it. Why 'your' spending time here is not clear tho and netiher do I care, so make your 'appearence" anywhere you like, it IS the intetwebz. Just try to stick to the discussion and not underhanded witty remarks, cuz that can go both ways

Exactly, that is not the kind of complete wrist movement I'm talking about

In an interview with Develop, the Cohort CEO said that both Sony and Microsoft’s new wave of motion control peripherals will allure many of the core market who have – in some respects – become vocally opposed to motion control gaming.

Most are opposed because it's on a Nintendo console and not by their favourite consle maker meaning they couldn't possibly say anything good about motion control, until it appears on their console and then of course it will be said to befantastic and done so much better than on the Wii

So you're asking for it to mimic your movements first, then when you want to do it and it does it... it's a problem?

Seems like this sentence was completly overseen:
"Cohort is currently building an upcoming on-rails shooter, given the working title ‘the Shoot’."

An onrails shooter ? I dont mind ONE good Onrails shooter. But looking at the Wii something tells me that there wont be just one Onrails shooter.

There is some kind of agreement it seems. As soon as there is a Wii Type controller they are going to make Onrails shooter for it ?

The good thing is that high development costs for the PS3 make sure that developers cant release toomuch trash without going bankrupt.

i would be surprised if its not. its a newer tech.

I'm here because this topic shows up in the general "Forum Hot Topics" area of the site and has the word "wiimote" in the title, but anyways, I think you misread what Maxwell wrote. Regarding WSR, I think you should play it again, because I think you are wrong. As to RS2 I agree with you that it isn't 1:1, but this was a gameplay design decision that had nothing to do with the motion+ precision.

Now the Move may end up being somewhat more precise, but I doubt a developer that has never developed games for the Wii (not to mention the motion+) is qualified to determine that it is "so much more accurate". If anything, its main advantage may be less (or no) need for re-calibration when compared to the Motion+.

Yes it does mimic it, but why claim you know something about something, if you don't know anything about it?

Than the stand alone Wiimote, Yes. Wiimote + Wii motion plus, No. They're almost the same tech.

Uhhh what? That's certainly an incorrect statement. The key feature of each tech that really makes them work well as motion controllers (well Wii is proven, Move remains to be seen) are fundamentally different. The accelerometers within the respective devices are probably almost identical, but it's the spatial positioning detection that's the truly important part of Wii and Move motion controls and the tech used for spatial positioning detection is completely different.

The end result is probably almost the same (or as close as makes no practical difference), but the tech is certainly not almost the same. And even saying the end result is almost the same might be a premature assertion, because the camera aspect of Move may give it potential for applications that Wiimotion+ can't deliver. I can't say for sure, but some of those tech demos look like they'd be damned hard to do with a Wiimotion+

But man doesn't the name Lol Scragg sound totally made up? I was wondering whether this was a real article or some fake thing. Didn't help that I'd never heard of Cohort Studios either.
