Forums - Gaming - How Nintendo saved gaming for me

I stopped gaming with the PSone. Not that I didn't want to play anymore. I just grew up, became an adult. You know, having a carreer, getting married, having a son. Good stuff. Aside from an occasional PC game, it was difficult for me to justify spending money on a console and games. But then Nintendo came up with the Wii. It was cheap and had games for everybody. Even more, it has games to play with everybody, like a family. Now, my wife is fully converted to videogames. She love racing games like Forza. My kid has a huge universe of games suited for his age. And of course I get my share of fun. But more importantly: it made perfect sense for me and the family budget to buy a 360.

Now WE NEED, another console, and another TV. One for each other.

For a while I thought that gaming was a lost paradise, like a part of my childhood that would never come back. But I was wrong. Now, I see a future full of videogames.

THANKS IWATA, THANKS MIYAMOTO, THANKS NINTENDO!!! I LOVE YOU.

It seems to be tradition for these types of threads.

You're doing it wrong, you're supposed to tell us how Nintendo are the anti-christ and that you'll never even be in the same room as a Nintendo product ever again or something equally emotionally hysterical.

VGChartz

Nintendo saved gaming for me twice. First time was during the N64 gen when I started to grow tired of gaming and Nintendo sent me Super Mario 64 and Zelda OoT to cheer me up.

This gen I again started to grow tired of gaming, I felt like I'd already played everything and some fresh air was needed. Nintendo gave that as well.

Some days ago I thought about my collection of Wii games, the upcoming games and those I still haven't got. To be honest, the Wii is starting to reach Snes status for me, and Snes is my God. I have barely touched WiiWare and I believe once I do that the Wii will overtake the Snes. Blasphemy, I know, but that's how I feel.

Anyway, great thread, and it's nice to see that Nintendo didn't ruin gaming for everyone
Now I'm off to introduce my Wii to a newly acquired Classic Controller Pro. Man does that controller look and feel beautiful

I blame this thread for the supernatural weather condition where I live. There are things humans should not play with!

Nintendo is the reason I am still a gamer too. I was pretty much done halfway through last Gen. But, the Wii and its new focus on pick up and play games brought me back in. Many of my friends now too got back into gaming after playing with me. Not only do I enjoy the pick up and play and blue ocean games I also am not flooded with the everyday "hardocore" line of games. I enjoy many styles of games, but really I needed something new, or a new way of playing to keep going. Of course this even goes for the best handheld I have ever touched the Nintendo DS . Wii brings back fun and arcade style play where as my DS mostly fills my old love for my SNES and all things RPG with a twist of blue ocean on top too.

Hmm. I'm still waiting on my Wii games. Because I don't enjoy alot of Nintendo first party.

The Last Story + Xenoblade need to get here.

I approve of this thread.

Put in a couple of jokes and you'll be the next Rol.
