Well that's odd then, because the graph of last year shows a bigger jump from 11th - 18th than 18th - 25th, i thought that was meant to be when it went higher....or is it mean to be the week before Thanksgiving that goes up? (do people buy presents for thanksgiving?)


Just to make sure we are on the same page: Black Friday is specifically defined as the day after Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving is celebrated on the 4th thursday of November.

 

Now typically the week of Thanksgiving (and Black Friday)  is when the major increases start, but I think for the 360 last year they were boosted a bit by Gears of War.  Other than that I don't know what explains the increase, but it was definitely abnormal.

Just don`t forget, that these Christmas x360 has to deal with PS3, ps2 and Wii(which has some supply problems, but still).

2009.04.30 - PS3 will OUTSELL x360 atleast by the middle of 2010. Japan+Europe > NA.


Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

 

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.

PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.

come on....as you can see xbox360 is last in sales, in both japan and europe!
halo3 and xbxo360 arcade did not help at all......microsoft has lost!!

i think microsoft is out of the game, since they have done everything.....even with 2 years out, instead of 1!!

conclusion: xbxo360 sales won't hit the expected in 2007......
and from what i predict, it will be a black 2008 for xbox360!!

PS3 will easily past 8M before 360 pasts 17M, even 16M!!!
Why?

- PS3 just need 1,87M to 8M
- 360 needs 2,57M to 16M (and 3,57M to 17M)
- PS3 beat out 360 for 2nd week in a row
- PS3 is getting stronger in Europe
- 360 is losing percentage in all regions each week
- 360 has been overtracked during almost the entire year 2007

PS3 will past 9M before 360 pasts 17M too, of course! Why does almost everyone think that 360 will past 16M (maybe even 17M) in 2007, while just 50% guess that PS3 pasts 8M this year?!?! 360 is clearly overrated by the people (just see the Predictions League's predictions for 360 and later compare them to the real results!!!)

 I will update this once I get home later, but it definitely seems like the 360 will be ahead of last year's numbers.  The question is will it be by a lot or a little?
