Forums - Sales - Sales of wii hardware guesses once Wii fits released???

the japanese are getting very unpredictable, Im not sure a fitness title would be that appealing to a country where everyone is so thin in the first place anyway, I imagine europe and NA being the main target for the game, especially if it gets the same women's magazine/tv press that the wii got.

probably 90k

Anywhere from 40-60K. If the wii sales don't pick up soon then it won't be a matter of a slump but longterm decline in Japan. While I am very optimistic about wii sales in America and Europe I can't say the same about Japan.

I don't understand the Japanese market anymore, SMG is a good game and a Mario game, yet its sales were truly disappointing.

It could sell trillions or 20K it doesn't matter, release something stupid like Happy Train Ticket inspector simulator for the DS and they'll buy another 20 million.

They're totally unpredictable

Oh man you made me laugh, hard. :D

I have to agree though, the Japanese market seems a little unpredictable, the game could be a huge success, it could see average sales, or it could even flop.

Rise to heaven and all that stuff.

I was think around 100- 150k till about a month ago, and what with dissapointing SMG and Mario and Olympics numbers has made me think hardware sales will be much lower. Is Mario and Sonic any good btw???? Was thinking of picking it up, ive heard mixed reviews....

Mario & Sonic is a really fun multiplayer game.  Got it on Friday and I haven't even played Mario Galaxy since then.  Had some epic 400m races against my wife yesterday.  I can't imagine how much fun it would be if you could have four players with equal abilities competing against each other.  Will find out when friends come over (& i get two extra nunchucks).  The game really should have been online though.  I think that was a huge mistake on Sega's part.  They should have delayed the game so as to put in even just a basic online mode.

I guess you must mean Japan, if so I see the Wii being around 75,000 at that time. Possibly higher, depending on how big the New Years gift purchasing fever goes. It'd be nice if Nintendo started boxing Wii sports in with the Wii's in Japan, it seems to be the one thing missing from the formula that's made the Wii such a success everywhere else.

Prepare for termination! It is the only logical thing to do, for I am only loyal to Megatron.

The Japanese do seem umpredictable, Happy Train Ticket inspector simulator dosent seem to far fetched, you could work your way up to chief inspector through catching a certain amount of people without a ticket. And also have unloackable items like different hats, shirts and glasses to wear when on the job....
