I don't see how this party:

http://www.conservatives.com/Policy/Where_we_stand/Big_Society.aspx

Could possibly be considered strongly Authoritarian.

Well, the thing is, just because you are prescribed to a certain area doesn't mean that you match 100% of your ideologies with people in the same area.

For example, there are a litany of social issues you may hold authoritarian views on, and others you are freer....Someone may feel the exact opposite way on every issue and score the same, simply because the compass does not try to hold one issue above the other (in some situations, AFAIK).

On most social issues, I would think that I am more authoritarian. But I am an atheist, and I believe that same-sex couples should have the same rights as traditional couples, and now suddenly I'm a libertarian >_>

Well, thats how it works. I'm a fundementalist Christian, and I'm in the same area of personal liberties you are. If you are within 1 point of '0' when it comes to personal liberties, it would mean that you have some authoritarian views, and some libertarian views. It doesn't mean your balls-deep into letting everyone do anything. I know in my own case, I'm pro-drugs (and other vices), but still strongly believe that the individual should stay away from such vices...Which tends to make me lean slightly towards libertarianism, but not extreme like some many of the respondents so far.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Military views, perhaps? I'd imagine that is why the LDP is where they are on the scale. More militaristic leaders have high skewing towards authoritiarianism in the charts, even if they respect personal liberties.

Hmm, I think I may have moved a square to the right from last time.

Holy shit!

What did you do, ban corporations, implement 95% tax and legalise murder?

No offence. But...wow.

I'm getting my left and rights confused! Which one will put me in the purple corner? :P

You'd have to vote Lib Dem for that. Not worth the sacrifice

Well, it's easier just to post coordinates, so I'll do that:

(-7.50, -3.23)

-dunno001

-On a quest for the truly perfect game; I don't think it exists...

mine tends to fluctuate a little, but its allways in the same area (Left Libertarian)

Looking at the people around me (the left libertarian cluster) I thought I was further right than most of them. I know I'm on the right hand side of that cluster, although I would say it would have been a square or two further to the right relative to their political ideologies.
