Forums - Gaming - Are you actually good at video games?

beating any singler player game on the hardest difficulty doesnt take that much skill, it more about patience when dealing with AI. Multiplayer games that require teamwork and individually skill is a different story, human vs human can be way harder then any AI will ever throw at you. I consider myself above average on FPS and MMO's, and Just below average -average on RTS..those are my three favorite generas

I'm good at adventure/rpgs
I suck at sport games, but maybe because I found those anying
I'm also bad at puzzles

I'm very good at playing console FPS, football games and racers.

and good at anything else

Most people gauge video game playing skill on multiplayer platforms ...

I'm decent at most multiplayer games, not phenomenal (I'm looking at you FPSs), but where I truly excel, is the wonderful world of JRPGs, platformers, and old school (NES, Master System, Genesis, Super NES, etc.) kicks.

In this generation, I'm just okay. I don't own a headset or an Xbox for that matter, so I don't spit trash with the best of them.

Take me back to 1995 or '94 and I would certifiably kick your ass at NBA Jam, Street Fighter, or any game up until the N64 era. Lately, I'm a shadow of the gamer I used to be.

I think I'm an average all around gamer I guess, really good at fps, sport, puzzle, and adventure games.
Decent at racing games, and not too good at fighters. But I can adapt to a game well and do good.
I'd like to see how all these 2477809715-13982 ratio people on call of duty do it. I know there are a lot of hackers but I'd like to see the really good ones play.

I'm good at games by my self. When it comes to multiplayer, I'm not that good but I still have fun playing

Well, back when I had the time to play a lot, I used to be above average at just about every game I play. Nowadays I lack the time to play much. So it really depends on how much time I've put into a game.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

I'm pretty much in your boat. Even Castlevania ReBirth is too hardcore for me these days.

But yea, I had my days of battletoads etc.

I'd say that I'm okay. And I like it when games challenge me, forcing me to think, remember, or something. I remember a fair number of NES games bitching me around like a little kid. (And then, I was.) But then I noticed I was able to beat or come close to beating many games. Was I getting better? *fires up NES* A bit, but nope! That little improvement let me beat Metroid, though... and I should try playing Castlevania 1 again...

I lost my edge over old school puzzle solving and finding secrets, which was all rather hard, but other than that I've got a lot better at today's current offerings, which are less complex and less about secrets (and fun of solving puzzles and secrets :\ ) but more about reaction game play and playing with others online.
