It's simple - because the Wii is worth that $500 to them, and they consider cheaper ones hard enough to find so that the msrp is a non-issue when they decide to drop that sort of money to get one. If it wasn't worth that much to them, they wouldn't have bought it for that much. Aahhh, supply and demand....how I wish I had an extra Wii to sell on ebay

I was just looking at Amazon and there selling starting from $549.99 wtf.... not even the ps3 is selling for that much it really doesn't make any sense.

i believe that parents would do anything to buy what their children want. Especially since wii is popular with children. I am curious to how many wii's were sold this past friday or this past weekend in general. However, 500+ for a wii is quite a big chunk of change that scalpers are earning.

The irony is astounding. The Wii almost doubled its value 1 years time and the PS3 lost almost half its value in 1 years time and the 360 stayed relatively flat.
