final debate is on Thursday on the Economy, should be interesting, from what I know of there policies, I like the Lib Dems ideas on the economy best and the Conservatives least, Labour are meh, for me, they are all too capitalist...

gotta laugh at the hypocracy of Cameron, has a go at other parties for fearmongering and then spends the next week doing nothing but fearmonger on a hung parliament, pathetic and transparent.

I think Gordon will come out best on the economy. Nick Clegg will come in second with David coming last. (These are not my views, rather what I think the publics views will be after the debate).

I'm really hoping for a hung parliament. Don't think I could take being represented on a global scale by that Eaton toss pot.

I don't really think Gordon Brown is a people person lol. I wonder if other party leaders talk about people behind there backs like this. I am quite surprised because I didn't think the confrontation was that bad for him before he talked behind her back. It definitely wasn't a disaster. Cameron had some much worse confrontations yesterday. (don't know what he said behind their backs though.)
This is definitely going to be bad for him because one of is plus points is that his policies are good for over 60's, so he doesn't want to upset them.

Caution. Some may find the language used to be offensive.

I can't believe our very own prime minister would say such hurtful disgusting thiings about a fellow voter. I mean does he intentionally insult and piss everyone off?

Yeah pretty much agree here. Lets just say that Brown is going to find it very hard to explain his words used during the political debate tommorow...In that respect he has probably already lost to Clegg and Cameron......and we haven't even started the debate yet

Brown is fucked... He cant even handle a female pensioner disagreeing with him. Amateur.

Prime Minister Gordon Brown has been caught on microphone describing a voter he had just spoken to in Rochdale as a "bigoted woman".

Sixty five-year-old Gillian Duffy had challenged Mr Brown on a number of issues including immigration and crime.

As he got into his car, he was still wearing a broadcast microphone and was heard to say "that was a disaster".

Mr Brown later apologised after the tape was played to him as he was interviewed on BBC Radio 2.

After listening to the recording, with his head in his hands, he said: "I do apologise if I've said anything that has been hurtful."

The comments were made after the conversation with Mrs Duffy, with Mr Brown not realising that he had a Sky News microphone pinned to his shirt.

He told an aide: "That was a disaster - they should never have put me with that woman. Whose idea was that? It's just ridiculous..."

Gillian Duffy: "I want to know why I was called a bigot"
Asked what she had said, he is heard to reply: "Ugh everything! She's just a sort of bigoted woman that said she used to be Labour. I mean it's just ridiculous. I don't know why Sue brought her up towards me."

Mrs Duffy, a widow, said after being told about Mr Brown's comments: "I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet but if that's what he said I'm very upset. I'm very annoyed."

She called for an apology, saying she wanted to know why he had "come out with words like that".

She had earlier told reporters she was a lifelong Labour voter and described Mr Brown as being "very nice."

BBC News Channel chief political correspondent Laura Kuenssberg said this was "extremely embarrassing" for the Labour Party. Their tactic of putting him in contact with more "ordinary people" had "gone quite horribly wrong".

As I have ALWAYS said.  Labour isnt about tyhe working man any more... why th hell allmof these lifelong labour suppporters styill vote for them amazes me.

If you analyse many of the old Labour voters, they should actually be voting Green, BNP or some other similar national socialist party.

I hope Brown gets his arse kicked by the media for this... arrogant, elitist tosspot that he is.

the Green party arent nationalist...and on most issues they couldnt be further from the BNP...

I didn't say they were...  I'd peg them as more communist having had a quick look at their "manifesto"

The Greens and the BNP would be better served as pressure groups than political parties.  They are pretty much single policy parties.

IMO.

Mind you as least Nick Griffin and Caroiline Lucas (?) dont insult pensioners because they disagree with them.

Nick Griffin and other party members have been caught on camera saying much worse though.

theyre socialist, but there manifesto has stuff about a multitude of issues, not just the enviroment.

I despise the BNP, and Nick Griffin said far worse things than calling a pensioner a bigot

Gordon Brown is a liar. He knew exactly what she said. He didn't "misinterprete" anything she was saying he just used that as a pathetic excuse....

As I have predicted on here many times before... the failings of the EU common fiscal policy (one interest rate and one currency) are coming home to roost in a big way today

We have the ridiulous situation where a country's debt is now rated as junk bond status. As a result Greece is in a world of trouble, Portugal could well suffer the same fate very soon and Spain is looking very dodgy.

Meanwhile Germany is stalling on agreeing to the bail out of 50bn Euros for Greece, who can blame them, as it fears it is bad money after good and public opinion is VERY far from supportive of the move. The question on germa tax-payers list is why should the German tax payer bail out Greece? Good question.... why?

Walls coming tumbling down.... ?

In many ways greece is indicative of what the EU is all about... 40% of GDP is generated by the state!? and 25% of all the employed in Greece work for the government!?  Doing what exactly? Presumably deciding where to spend all of that EU aid?

My god I'm glad we didnt fully integrate into that mess.

What's costing us 45million £ per day then?

It was actually pretty hilarious to see Brown slowly listing everything the Labour party claims they are doing in an attempt to convince that woman to vote Labour. She certainly wasn't a BIGOT, she was complaining about immigrants taking British jobs at the expense of hard-working locals. A perfectly reasonable complaint, and all parties agree on cutting immigration, with the added clause of "from outside the EU".

What, exactly, makes the EU so special that it gets granted invulnerability from immigration limits? Cameron seems to be the only one tackling the problem, with the whole "new countries in the EU will be limited" thing. But it isn't perfect.
