It is 1:1 for two glowing balls. |
Whats your point? U mean it's more simple than Natal, kinda like the Wiimote? But remember that Wiimote had lag in the beginning, but I think Wiimote is 1:1 now (Im not sure).

Somewhat. Natal seems to be tracking more things than Move.
Move has up to 4 glowing orbs that it runs calculations on the RGB image to determine depth and position. And it has data determining orientation and such via the hardware on the controllers.
Natal is running calculations on a depth map to determine the position of up to two(2 is all that has currently been confirmed) entire skeletel systems(22 points each I think was the last number). Seems a little more intensive than the other.
They both perform facial and vocal recognitions I believe.
Maybe I'm alone here but I looks like it's showing that ladies ovaries. lol
On topic there is still some lag but it's to be expected. Also I'm not sure if determining gender through facial features will work flawlessly either. What if it's a chick with a beard?

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

Dont get me wrong. Of course they're nothing alike. Natal is far more complex.
But lag is still lag. I'm just trying to evaluate the experience for what it is, pros and cons. I am very bothered by lag in general. 50ms is okay, but over 75-100 ms is too irritating in my opinion, especially if it's something that mirrors your own movements and you get to witness them on the screen directly in front of you. In a shooter even 100ms latency is okay because you don't directly see the lag unless you stand still and aim shots at a specific object in front of you.

Absolutely agree.
Wiimote had lag slime?
Some games were just horrible with it, but it never had any lag that I saw. I've never even heard or read about a Wiimote lagging.
I'm thinking when you say lag, your saying that when a movement is done, the time that it appears on the screen would be the determining factor of lag or not.
The thing with Wiimote is that it wasn't and still isn't 1:1, not you can get motion + to get it 1:1.
But even on split screen red steel I got no lag.... actually once I played Medal of Honor on a projector and got interference from other Wiimotes, which I never understood or corrected, we got frustrated and stopped playing; that was a 4 player affair.
It never happened with Red Steel in the same conditions though, so it was probably the game note the Wiimote.
I'm Unamerica and you can too.

As pointed by someone else it use face recognition. But I also thought I would point out that it doesnt see your bone structure. Lets say you have broken bone in your arm the cam cannot see it. It extrapolate the skeleton base on the shape it is seeing, so using this to determine sex wouldnt work, unless you play naked lol.
I wonder what happens if your avatar is the wrong sex and it recognizes the correct one. Would it fail to recognize you as the rightful master of the system and assign you a random avatar?
Kids will still be a problem to recognize IMO, as will be some asians. And some other random people.

Yes, I saw that someone linked to an article.
I wasn't implying that it was an x-ray device :) But a basic bone structure can be gleaned. Arm length, torso size, shoulder width, leg length, hip size, etc. Unless you are wearing some odd clothing(which will probably f' up Natal anyway), the bone structure generated should be a fairly good representation of your body shape.
Not too bad but wth is up with that woman? She constipated or something?
There is some obvious lag and I want to see it's been used for gameplay at E3 to warrant a purchase, fingers crossed
