this guy.... wow. what a mouth.

I really hope you're being sarcastic, I'd hope you of all people would read the actual quote and see that it's just being twisted to start a flamewar, in the same way his Halo quote was.

I agree its be being twisted... our own front page news article was terrible.  The spin on the words was way out of line and he didnt actually say he thought halo was bullshit, it also didnt mention the MW2 or Killzone2 comments... strange that.

However, he needs to be a little careful.  This will happen when you pass opinion, however inert, on other peoples games.  Especially 2 of the biggest games around and a fanboy favourite like killzone.

Well, he'll either learn it the hard way (as he seems to be new to the industry) or simply keep on trucking and not give a crap. I'm hoping for the latter, as it helps illustrate the poor state of gaming journalism these days.

WOW Crysis ONLY scored a 91 on Metacritic? WORST FPS EVER! Fuck sake internet people!

god of war 3 isn't really that impressive if you consider the fact that it's doing the same thing as past games in the series from technical standpoint. it may impress some that really don't know jag about games but in reality it's very last gen type of game - similar to first bioshock or call of duty series. bioshock looked great but only because of art and level design other than that it's not really that good looking game. Call of Duty games could probably run on past gen consoles, but the use of filters and good level design hide very poor and old tech.

Not technical, you are thinking game design, it's completely different when comparing the tech aspect from PS2 to PS3. They kept a lot of the same game design that made the God of War series popular, the formula might get old for people, but the tech is completely different, and to that end, I agree. Even though the product overall is better than a game like Bayonetta, the shock value I got from Bayonetta was far greater than God of War 3 besides the tutorial section of God of War 3 (the game gradually gets less epic towards the end, but it's still solid.)

waron the GOW fans will destroy you for saying that, lol, GOW III is amazing and I agree it does some very familiar things but, it looks totally awesome:):)
OT: I agree with the things they have said about MW2 and Halo, but seriously I will have to wait and see how it looks and performs on my PS3 before saying crysis 2 is better than Killzone 2, I am glad we have a proper multi-platform engine now:):)

that's why i sad that God of War 3 is great in art and level design but technically is below average.

look at my other reply, also, have you even played it?

Well Halo IS SHIT and utterly crap (I have halo:ce ,halo2 and Halo3), MW2 is just hyped up big time ,KZ2 was beautiful at it's time but not anything wow gameplay wise soooo maybe he's right?

I mean to destroy KZ2's graphics is kinda easy, UC2 and GoW3 are like light-yrs ahead of it in terms of graphics , AND Alpha stage is really close to the final product that graphically there won't be much improvement there in the final product.

They have yet to build their first console game and are talking bullshit already. The story of Halo is one of the best in this industry, the books are on the bestselling lists for a reason, MW2 must have done something right with such a gigantic success and Killzone 2 looks great.

They still need to prove themselves.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

@ DirtyP2002 )

you are aware it's the writer talking and not Crytek ? (ah yea, he isn't part of Crytek and Crysis 2 afaik is his first video game)

@ Rainbird )

yea, video game "journalism" together with the yellow press is the poorest excuse for "journalism" I've encountered .. good thing they don't report on anything that actually is of any importance though

But he is right! God of War uses old tech! All these gears and cranks and chains and winches! Very old!

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

" What I have seen of Crysis 2 in Alpha Stages, Surpasses Killzone 2 " Says Richard Morgan

The sci-fi novelist hired by Crytek to pen Crysis 2 has allegedly slammed Killzone 2 Graphics - claiming " What I have seen of Crysis 2 in Alpha Stages, Surpasses Killzone 2 ".

Yeah, I can really hear the venom in his voice as he says this... he's really slamming Killzone 2, not just sharing an opinion based on what he's seen.

"I thought Modern Warfare 2 was an immense disappointment," and "Halo Is Bullshit". Halo has revolutionized console FPS and online scene. Both have record breaking sales and have huge fan bases. Crysis 2 will have to be one hell of a game to even match up to Halo Reach coming this Fall.

Well those quotes were taken out of context. What he actually said has nothing to do with what this article is talking about here.

where Richard Morgan was speaking to HipHopGamer

So you haven't spoken to him yourselves, and you're going to quote from a less than reputable source.

unknown writer Richard Morgan

He's unknown now is he? He hasn't had any books out or won any Sci-Fi writing awards or anything, has he? I can't decide whether this is just ignorance or an attack on perfectly respectable writer.

But Crytek really have not delivered a triple AAA game yet have they now? With Crysis only on 91% Metacritic ( Halo + MW2 Scoring higher ) and Crysis Warhead and Far Cry below 90% Metacritic with remarks such as the horrible scraps of miserable story and melodramatic dialogue. Can this writer pull off a decent story for Crysis 2? One thing for sure his attitude better change or he will become on the wrong side of gamers and degrade the status of Crytek.

So 91% isn't AAA now? And getting 1 million sales barely a few months after release for a PC exclusive isn't AAA? Not to mention the fact that he had nothing to do with the first game and they brought him onboard because of the criticisms with the story of the first. And of course Metacritic is the only way to decide if a game is AAA *rolls eyes*. It's not his attitude that needs to change, it's the terrible standard of gaming journalism.

See green. Both this article and thread title are pathetic. Where in the blue hell did you find this piece of crap website/article? This really shows how poor and pathetic the state of video games journalism is when I can read better quality articles in The Sun or The Daily Mail (both poor UK tabloids).

I find it shocking that people are actually buying this crap instead of reading the context of this guy's quotes and using there brains.

Yeah, I just saw that, then saw this and had to vent. At least the VGChartz article starts off with the quote in context. The last paragraph is completely un-called for though and very unprofessional (imo).
