Forums - Nintendo - 3.D.S A New Handheld Or A New D.S Model?*

I hear game announcments all the time but I wasn't online during the announcment of the 3.D.S so is it a...

New D.S Model like the D.S.I or is it a

New Nintendo Handheld that will play new games exclusive to it that can also play old D.S games?(like Gameboy to Gameboy Advance to D.S)

Brand new system that also plays old DS games.

I think it's a complete new "generation" handheld wich will be able to play DS games.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

it is the next gen handheld.

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

Ok thank you.

Notable Mentions (a.k.a. "Games I Played and Hated")

The Legend of Zelda:
Ocarina of Time

Pokémon Channel

Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity

Yep, it's a totally new handheld. Its main feature is, of course, the ability to play games in sterescopic 3D.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Similar to the difference between the Gameboy and the Gameboy Advance.

You know, right now (we don't know a whole lot about it) to me it just seems like an upgraded DS model, despite what Nintendo says. I hope to see more that proves me wrong.
But as of right now, like Rainbow Yoshi said, it seems similar to the difference between the Gameboy Color and the Gameboy Advance.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

The reason why I did not say the Gameboy Color was because it released slightly before the Gameboy Advance.
