Forums - Microsoft - Rumor: Square Enix and Microsoft teaming up again for E3

Well...M$ provided financial assitance to SE for game development, making it MUCH easier to like M$...this is a business after all, and if I can get 10-30% of my development budget covered to provide a 12-month exclusive...that's good business by SE...too bad the games were crap. Maybe with their purchase od Eidos, they will make games with western appeal instead.

Are people seriously ignoring the fact that Breath of Fire = Capcom?

You are showing your young age.  Breath of Fire was created by capcom but back in the day they had a deal with squaresoft that made square the publisher of the game in north america for the super nintendo version. This situation is similar to the goldeneye situation between nintendo, rare, and microsoft.

Considering Capcom has published remakes of the game in the past, I don't believe that argument holds any ground whatsoever. This news is fake, and the Breath of Fire part confirms it.

Thank you. I was going to say that.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

FF13 versus coming to 360 confirmed

Over mine and Kratos' dead body. :P

Wouldn't be shocking if it comes out muli platform tbh. In the West JRPG sell pretty even on both systems. In the west FF13 only sold few hundred thousand on PS3 over X360. Resonance of Fate shared this as well with only a few thouasand in sales differences.

How our favorite systems are just like humans and sometimes have issues finding their special someone...

Xbox 360 wants to KinectPS3 wants to Move!  Why are both systems having such relationship problems?  The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.

Capcom has never published a console version of the original breath of fire in North America they just did the handheld version.  Maybe square has the rights to the console version in America.  It all depends on how the contract was drawn up all those years ago.  Microsoft owns the viva pinata, and blue dragon franchises but they were published by someone else when they went to the ds.  When the sequel to viva pinata went back to the console it was published by microsoft again.

To get out of a potential problem with microsoft over ninja gaiden 2 tecmo created a new engine and changed the name to ninja gaiden sigma 2 in order for it to be considered a new game.  Even though tecmo owned the ip and should be able to do what they wanted with it they had to do some manipulating since microsoft published the 360 version.  Like I said before it all depends on how the contracts are drawn up and what deals and promises were made.

If the 360 finaly picks up heat in JP... then Sony will just do the same... in JP Sony aren't even trying yet there still winning by miles... honestly at this stage... I don't think this is smart business on Microsofts part.

Dear M$: We regret to inform you that your former mount was officially pronounced DOA at the Hokkaido Equine-Veterinary Institute. Evidence of post-mortem, hindquarters trauma is under investigation. Please make alternate transport arrangements.

M$ will do well in Japan when they move their headquarters there, hire Japanese staff and rename themselves Playtendo.

Next gen the SuperfunboxeS. You wear them on your wrists while the 'true hd' surround unit fits loosely over your head. Like a lampshade. (Do not drive or operate heavy machinery. May cause lightheadedness or accidental groping).

A few hundred thousand is quite a bit considering that the PS3 has half the install base in the US.  And RoF sold like crap on both, so it's irrelevant.

Not really when you consider the fact that almost everyone thought the PS3 version would outsell the X360 version 2:1 in the West and it has not done that. I am amazed at the sales of the X360 version compared to that of the PS3 version in West. Considering a 300 thousand or so is the difference between both versions and both sold over a million...to me, it ain't a large margin when looking at the big picture.
