I don't think it will because nintendo will probably stop manufacturing it before it surpasses the PS2

no idea how to make this properly work

Depends on when the next Wii releases.

Depends if Ninty keep supporting Wii, or put all the big franchises on "Super Wii".

The main selling point of Ninty's systems is the 1st party support. If 3rd party support doesn't pick up and become like it was on PS2, i can't see the Wii having a life as long as the PS2 (or even NES, SNES, PSone).

But third party support hasn't played a part in Wii's rise, how can it play a part in its downfall?

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

Wii has outsold the PS2 every year with aligned launches. To not outsell the PS2 it not only has to slow down really fast, it has to slow down much much faster than the PS2 did, but it just has too much momentum to do that. If GTA4, Halo 3, God of War 3, Metal Gear Solid 4, Modern Warfare 2, Final Fantasy 13, and everything else couldn't slow it down, what will? Sports Champions, Move Party, Brunswick Bowling, Ricochet, and Milo? I am suddenly rolling on the floor laughing.

You can't compare last gen to this gen, no way.

The PS2 completely dominated last gen, but I wouldn't say the Wii is "dominating" this gen, sure it's doing exceptionally well but not like the PS2. The PS2 had all the games (third party as well) and a huge lead in sales. This gen the Wii wont be able to manage 50% market share and third party is out of the question it belongs to the HD consoles, not to mention the the X360 and PS3 is competing quite well. Natal and the Move is really the only thing that would effect Wii sales, games wouldn't since obviously the Wii has a different user base then the two HD consoles so it really doesn't matter what kind of huge AAA games they release, unless there games on Natal or Move do extremely well which would be a threat to the Wii.

it will outsell the ps2 its just a matter of time and were only 3years and almost 5months into wiis life and its almost at the halfway point of ps2 and 3rd party support is just getting better and that will help maintain what its doing now then price cuts and new bundles and colors and possibly dvdcd playback and so much more and as far as wii turning over sooner then the hdconsoles isn't going to happen thats just fanboy wishful thinking and xbox360 can't sell as much as wii at the same price and the graphics are better so that theory is being proved wrong everyday and ps3 is only 107$ more so I think at best ps3 can only tie wii at the same price give or take a few k so thats why i think wii can go as long as ps2 easily and ytd wii vs. ps2 is a much bigger difference then 5million......... Im thinking 20

Let me introduce you to my two good friends ,(comma) and .(period). That is a strain to read.

2015 is the answer and its not even in the poll.

2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 should not even be in the poll. It has no chance of selling 70 million in: 0.75 years, 1.75 years, 2.75 years or 3.75 years. The second 70 million will take a lot longer than the first 70 million. 5 years+ is reasonable

Your saying wii is going to have a sharp decline from here on out? No just no. Its going to hit 70 million next week.
It will sell about 22 million this year, putting the ending total at 86 million, Its going to have anthor 20+ million year
in 2011, Which brings it up to 106 million, One in 2012, 126 million, Now its not even far what the PS2 has now which is
132 million. Its going to be 2013. Quote me on this

I believe Q4 2012 early 2013,

I don't think it will just because I think a Wii 2 will be out within the next couple years.

I think when the wii is 1st to get a price drop It will dominant again and surprise ps2 even more.............

It doesn't matter if Wii doesn't have "domination" like the PS2 had, which by the way was mainly because PS2 had a year head start and virtually ALL the thrid party support. The important factor is that Wii is outpacing the PS2, so logic will tell you it should outsell the PS2.

I don't know why everyone seems to think Wii will just miraculously have this unprecedented drop in sales, like everyone in the world will collectively just decide to stop buying them all at once. It just doesn't work that way. I guess it's just wishful thinking going against logic.
