On the contrary, ModernWarfare 2 took a Halo kind of curve, early adopters were plenty, trusting the brand(s) and the reviews, their word of mouth snowballed into an even plentier total of 20 million consumers.

I said my opinion was superior to someone else's??? No Sir... if anyone's trying to do that, it's you. You said these sales were a slap to the face of anyone that stated the game was overrated. If that's how you view it, fine. I merely pointed out that high sales and review scores are the REASONS why someone like me would state that it's overrated. I've already stated my view on the sales. The game has mass market appeal, an established franchise to rely on, and had an advertisement push like no other game I could think of. Standing out was not a problem. Legs don't automatically equal good word of mouth [there are games that prove that wrong]... although I'm sure this game has a lot of that. There's a difference between being a bad game, and being overrated.

As far as i know realistic FPS don't get much better than MW2.

this game proves that the worst thing that happend this gen to gaming industry is so called "hardcore" gamer.

I'd play MW2 again but after so much time not playing, I'd get owned by all the "hardcore" gamers who have 200hrs clocked on MP alone...

What the fuck??? Whether a game's overrated or not is strictly an opinion based matter... and this wasn't about me proving it was whether it was overrated or not... it was about how those who view the game as overrated think of the sales... This is a waste of time.

If you look at any entertainment product and if it sells huge in the start and nothing after 2 months, that means people liked it and moved on and that it was nothing special


MF2 got almost 200K combined sales this past week on the PS3 and Xbox360, that means it was well liked game among gamers and that many new fans are picking the game up.


Many many more people bought this game than any shooting game I think off ever. It will continue selling many copies as its the must have game for any person with a XBOX or PS3 now.

Now for the Next Modern Warfare game, average people love it and will come back and buy it. If its really good it will sell similar numbers, but even so 15+ million is assured. Remember this, when the new MF is released many more people will have an XBOX or a PS3, so it can sell more even. This is what happened to GTA on the PS2...
