I feel sad for games like UC2, GoW3 or ME2 that struggle to sell several milions when such buggy and overrated game can sell 10 times their numbers, even though they are definately better. It just shows that general public has no taste whatsoever, but I shouldn't be surprised, when the Twilight New Moon was of the biggest movies of the year.

If quality was what definied if something will sell or not European movies would be the best-selling moves and Paulo Coelho and Twillight books wouldn't even get released.

Twilight cost only 50 million to make but grossed over 700 million worldwide. That is a staggering Return on Investment. If you put in 1 million towards the movie you got back 14 million. What does this mean? We will see alot more of this type of movie coming out.

Damn, COD took the hardcore gamer crown from GTA, this is a sad day for me as i prefer GTA to COD

Whilst COD is a hardcore game, it's garnered such huge success through picking up the interest of the casual audience. It is important to note that this is not the same casual audience that will be playing Wii Fit and the like, but it is a casual audience nonetheless... It's the type of gamer that will play nothing but this, FIFA, NFS and the like...

Twilight series is one of the best selling book series in recent history. It's terrible to read personally, but market to a lot of people.

Much like the example of MK series.

yeah... 'cause games are not for the masses right ? One needs to be educated in order to appreciate the value of fun (/slap #3).

The first millions of people who bought this game loved it and are telling other millions they would too.

Really don't see your point... Seems like you're trying to be condescending, but i'm wondering if you understand what's meant by overrated. I don't use sales to determine quality nor do I need to, I played the game. If the game had sold under 3 million and got worse reviews, I wouldn't consider it over rated because it would seem fitting to what I think of the game. Seeing it sell 10M on a single platform wouldn't make me think better of it or make me feel as if I was wrong... that only applies to sheep. I think the game deserves less, it got more, so I feel it got more than it deserved- I FEEL IT'S OVERRATED. 

On another note, I don't get your word of mouth comment AT ALL. GTAIV is a prime example of how pointless it was of you to mention that. Both games were in established series that were bound to see good sales in the next entry. Do you know how much Activision spent on marketting MW2? Less than 13M sales would have been saddening.
