Well seems rather likely, mainly due to the lack of competition it'll have for awhile. I don't know if that is because of the weakness of other developers in that category or j ust because it is so strong but it has already been able to survive MAG and Bad Company 2 even with the latter putting up big sales. And this showed for the previous CoD games as well as Modern Warfare 1 and World at War both sold well despite big first party shooter releases.

Guess when we look down the road, it's really not til the next Call of Duty game comes out can something even be on the same level with it to start taking away sales. Until then, looks like the definite shooter for the system that will maintain high sales. I think it has a shot, but I also think as we get to the summer months, sales will start to slow especially as hardware sales start to slow.

so uk unofficial bundles means it was heavily bundled? lol. Anyway you can't compare the legs of mw and mw2. Mw2 was extremly frontloaded while mw wasn't. What makes you think with initial sales 10 times as high as the first one, it will be able to have the same legs. Way to many people who want the game already bought it, and once a few more quality fps come out, new ps3 buyers will not buy it ether.

It probably will imo it dosen´t deserve it. Ive lost all interest to play the game anymore online don´t appeal to me as Cod4 did.

it's just that MW2 is such a royal piece of shit as a game, so many other titles deserve this over that over hyped trash, from a hack developer (infinity ward is the Micheal Bay of game developers).
B ack in the day it was ok to make a gta clone because gta was awesome, now every fps is going to want to mimic cod and it's just sad, really makes me weep gaming, and gamers for that matter.

Yes it will, What you guys are forgetting is it will be getting another holiday boost. The new COD wont take much sales away from MW2 either if the same trends are still appealing, even though CoD4 was older it still outsold CoD5. Infinity Ward is just a more liked company by the public in my opinion, or the whole "modern era" of war is more appealing rather then the historical type of war.

Either way Modern Warfare 2 WILL reach 10 million units sold on PS3. It hasn't even been half a year and already it's at 7.5 million units sold. With weekly numbers about 80k.

yes most likely, i don't think the next COD will effect the sales too much because a lot of people who buy the infinity ward games don't care much for the treyarch ones
