What do you mean by that? It's F2P.

Platform king - Mario, no clone could ever dethroned him, all hail the KING
Shooter king - Used to be Halo, COD dethroned him, KZ not even close, Gears is much bigger, too much competition in the field, underage shooter rabid boys are all on LIVE
RPG king - well, JRPG simply dont sell like FF7 anymore, and after the double multiplat sales of FF13, Square-Enix boss would be crazy not to make next one multiplat (FF14 dont count)
Motion king - Wii is motion and motion is Wii, sorry Move and Natal

Only king Sony has:
Driving simulator - GT the King, yep Sony still has it

So to get a new 10 million seller, must look into new genre for the console, which is:

MMORPG - just ask 10s of millions of World Of Warcraft players who got no life watsoever, also the occasional drop dead incidents in Korea/China. Its the next big thing waiting to happen

And Free Realms just cross 10 million user base today on its 1 year annivesary!! So Free Realms and DC Universe will be THE next big bet!! Wait for DC Universe to explode at E3!!

True but 10 million, with 2 million signing up in March, is still impressive no matter how you slice it. After it comes to PS3 - which supposedly it'll come after Move is out - I can see it having 20+ million registered users, with let's say 1/4  being active users? That's damn impressive.

Yes SONY can if they can make a IP that clicks with a large userbase like GT did.

Currently, No!

Why do I say no? Well the PS3 and PSP are both tanking sales wise even the best PS3 games barely pass a million units. The PlayStation brand is recovering from its weakest point in the history of the brand. The only way Sony could create a big franchise as big as Gran Turismo is if they had the bigger hardware base to support such hard software sales.

I think Sony had a chance to build big brands like that back on the PSOne and PS2 but they failed to create anything ground breaking. I think if they had retained Spyro and Crash they might have been able to build them into big franchises then look at Jak and Ratchet both excellent franchises that if Sony had dealt with them properly could have become bigger franchises. But Sony never establishes big brands.

Now that Sony has the much smaller support base I doubt they can make another huge franchise that big. Maybe next generation!

The "play, create, share" line of games has the potential, but Sony did something wrong with LBP.

Free Realms gets it's money through micro transactions.

It's still past 10 million in less than a year. Best performing Sony game so far.
Although PS3 won't add much for it, but it would be stupid not to attempt.

And OkeyDokey.....what did Sony do wrong with LBP?

SOcom probablly reached past "barely" with DL's and HR will definatly pass it. R&C will pass it since it's always head legs in the franchise especially when the games re-release.

looks like Sony has the same amount of games than MS even with MS year head start. Your whole post is crap.

Why is Borderlands on the graph above? And MS only published Gears/Gears 2, they don't own the rights to the IP.
