Amazing art. Very old school! And most importantly, no emo top models in them!

ha ha ha are you making fun of Final Fantasy, and almost every other jrpg?

Sure am. But not all Final Fantasies. Just some. the newer ones. I mean, Final Fantasy XV is gonna be this if this trend continues.

NOOOOOOOOO! not acceptable. not acceptable at all.

art looks fabulous but we need screens and videos to make judgement

if i've learned anything from the Epic Mickey incedent it's that never assume good art = good graphics

thats funny. everyone disses Epic Mickey in my thread but look at my avatar and my signature. there's nothing wrong with Epic Mickey. If you guys sound like graphic whores right now. Epic Mickey is premature in development, hence, there's no media blowout on it. This game is being made by Mistwalker and you guys have doubts?! shameful.

First thing that came to mind when I saw this pic, especially the front view, was this.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

the art in your avatar & sig is FABULOUS! the screens we saw of Epic Mickey were not, not bad from a technical graphics perspective but from the art style perspective. you do have a point however that the screens for EM were from very early in developement, that's why i would have rather not had any screens of the game until if looked more presentable.

i'm just saying that just cuz the "art" of the game looks a certain way doesn't always mean that the ingame look will resemble it, anyway this game's art looks cool so thant's at least a good sign :)

As usual, nice art. But when will we get gameplay screens?

That's what i'd like to know. I'd better not have to wait for E3...

How technical is your game?

I like the art with the dude with blond hair.

He doesn't have a freaking ridiculous hair cut.

I suppose you're right. Epic Mickey is still high on my liist though. (Maybe they should have Super Mario Galaxy programmer's do the graphics for Epic Mickey, but then again it was rumored that Pixar was involved in development so hey who knows right) And I believe in Mistwalker to wow us in the graphics department. If Capcom can do it with Gamecube, then I don't see why Wii can't. (3rd Party wise i mean)

I'd rather wait until E3, if that means the graphics are presentable by then. Otherwise the graphics whores (and even Nintendo fans can fall into that) will tear it apart.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Some details

The director (still unidentified) confirms that the characters depicted in the illustration are the main character and heroine.

"There is a wall between the two," he writes. Based off the director's comments, it seems that there's something keeping the two apart and unable to live their dreams together.

The director also writes that in The Last Story, there will be a number of other stories besides the story of these two characters. He mentions:

* The fear of speaking your true feelings
* The mystery of the father who went missing on boat
* The difficulty a leader has in making decisions
* The close accomplice who's turned to evil
* The foolish archaeologist's prison break

Concludes the director, "It's very important to merge battles and gameplay with story. Neither can stand on its own. Once both are connected together, the characters will rise up as "human" within the container of a game."

The game's producer (also unidentified) states, "The characters who appear in The Last Story all walk their own paths and have their own stories." He likens this to the real world, where no one has lived their lives following the same path as you.
