I have been trying to work out a build order for a Thor rush. I can't seem to streamline it well enough though. They always come out a bit late, and then get crushed by sheer numbers even with SCV support. Think you could share the replay so I might learn something from it?

Yeah an immortal would stop it cold and fast. I am not a huge fan of rushing normally, but I love Thors. I need to work on getting them out vs Zerg more since they do work wel when properly supported against them. Fortunately way down here in copper you can fuck up massively and still clinch the win.

Patch today! Galaxy editor is out now. Marauders got a slight buff, and Immortals got nerfed hard. Zerg got a healthy number of unit changes for better and for worse. Also, achievements are live, and there are finally some new maps.

So I ended up with 3 beta keys at once after not having one for months. The game is a lotta fun I have to admit, wish it wasn't $60.

That means you've got two extra keys!! Would you please consider sending one my way?

I have about 20 different people asking me for one, so the only impartial way of doing this would be to either raffle it or sell it to the highest bidder or something.

Just got my key from gamestop, sweet sweet stuff. If anybody wants to add an oldschool SC1 player who is starting out maining toss, add me I'm vaga.houser

Just played through 3 practice matches, I'm skipping my last two. I'm tired of so many rocks in the way. Won 2, lost one, great fun all of them. I lost a PvP, I was going to try a DT drop to just go around the rocks, but I messed up my build accidentally making a starport instead of a Robotics facility and failed to realize that now I need to make an actual Dark Templar building. I was higher tech, but when I pounded through my rocks he had just out massed me. Looking at the after score board we were dead even in resources and expenditure of resources, I just wasted too much of mine and lost out on time. He had a few units left after the fight, and we were both trying to reinforce, but he gradually beat me back and won my expo. I could've kept fighting, but it would've just delayed the inevitable, I just GG and surrendered.

Now to my placement matches!

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

Just pre-order from gamestop for $5 and then cancel the next day. You might be able to do it with Amazon too, but it would temporarily cost more,

From what I've seen of Thor rushes (harash). The build order is something like 10 rax, 10 gas > 1 more to gas, return it after OC is build on 15, rax build tech lab, immediatly factory, immediatly starport + armory > thor + medivac and go for drop.

It's really hard to find the crucial balance for worker distribution, you have to move gas - minerals and vice versa to be able to instantly build everything you need. But the main use of this tactic from what I've seen is thor drop. Medivac + thor, drop behind mineral line or near his exp and let thor rape everything, if he's in trouble just load him and either go repair him back to base or just drop him somewhere else. You can do fuckloads of damage this way.

But thor rush (drop) isn't really that kind of cheese which would allow you to insta win. It's just an option to force your opponent's economy behind yours, you have to figure out some transition for midgame, or else you are screwed (unless you play against giant noob).

BTW Thor's are strong enough as they are now, they are imba against both air (splash) and ground, with instagib ability for both ground and barracks. If you need to strenghten your Thor, have 2-3 scv's follow him and repair, now reinforce this with couple of marauders with medivac support and you have unstoppable army right there.
