There is no need to copy abilities. Especially since it likely wouldn't do a lot to help the Ultralisk anyways. I'd much rather see them create something unique for the unit. 250mm Cannon would still wipe it out, and Marauders with stim would still crop it lightning fast before it could do much damage.

Agreed. I think a better solution would be to make chitinous armor upgrade also make the unit immune to being disabled. Then maybe have the 250m cannons only slow it's attack speed or something, when it's upgraded.



I really need to get out of my Starcraft:Brood War mind, I'm so used to the Terrans being to fend for themselves with only ground troops that I'm getting crushed whenever I find myself going against air units.

I'm making Thors as a Goliath replacement but they're not all that effective. I'd like some pointers from you guys about Terran Anti-air. What do I do against an opponent who masses air units? Are Vikings my only option?

Well it would still be more than enough damage to finish the job in one shot. You might get a couple swings, but even an attack speed slow would cripple the Ultralisk with the amount of damage coming in. Of course I highly doubt most Thors will have 250mm Cannon when playing against Zerg.

Thors are good vs light air, but they aren't the "kill anything in the skies" unit that goliaths were. they are great vs mass air, but thors are just not a good unit to use alone. Generally you want thors surrounded by infantry. whether against masses of air or lots of ground troops, they require support. marines and thors are great vs air - but the air is more maneuverable, so you want some vikings in that case. Their obscene range can draw the opponents into thor range, or force them to stay away.

Well, the ultralisk is literally the only unit in the game 250mm cannons are really worth it against. to heavily mitigate their value seems reasonable. The ultras just got a damage increase, with another buff to come, I think that combined with partial resistance to the cannons would balance them.

Immortals and Colossi are also worthy targets. It isn't a bad bet versus buildings either. It saw its greatest effect against Ultralisks, but there are other units worth gibbing with it. Hell if Immortals weren't cheaper, easier to build, and had a lower supply the ability would have made mech viable against Protoss.

(This is plainly a joke as it would simply screw the bigass guys that only shoot one at a time and already OHK tons of stuff already)

I am really sad to see this roach nerf and I can't believe they did it. Maybe at my level of play (gold/silver) roaches weren't a problem but now they just feel kind of meh considering you have to churn out more overlords.
