Final fantasy VIII - You have to junction a giant monster to your character so that he can use ITEMS!?!?! This alone should be enough to make the game deserve negative sales let alone selling on par with FFVII. I usually don't have anything against surrealism and abstract gameplay, but seriously... SRSLY!
Tekken - Bad childhood memories with these games. Any tekken game sold is a tekken too much.
Any dragonball game - Boring button mashing/long painful comboes at it's finest. doesn't deserve the sales form the DB license.
Devil May Cry - I seriously can't believe such a boring game could be a hit, ditto about the boring button mashing/long painful comboes part of DB
Ninja Gaiden - (Xbox) Ditto
God of War - Ditto
Bayonetta - Ditto
Just Dance - I have nothing against games like Wii sports that are accessible yet deep. But this? It sucks.
The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess - Not gimmicky like Wind Waker or Spirit Tracks, but still just a inferior game to Ocarina of Time. Wich it shouldn't be. It doesn't even deserve to sell better than Wind Waker wich had better difficulty and item usage.
I LOVE ICELAND!

Halo 3 deserved it numbers. There isn't a single console developer that supports their games as much or as well as Bungie does, not to mention the wide range of features and replayability of the game. 4 player local split screen, 2 player local co-op, forge, constant new maps and playlists and great online statistics tracking etc.
Whether you like the game or not is irrelivant, the halo series is constrantly played by millions of people even to this day for a reason.
Wii Music. Not one of their biggest sellers, but it still sold way more than it should have.

I don't agree with you at all. Why can't there be any game that did or did not deserve more sales? It just depends on what you're basing it on. I think if you compare two games based on quality and the experience it delivers, that it's fair to say that the game which scores better on these said points is the game that "deserves" more sales. That doesn't mean a company didn't do a great job when their game, which for instance lacks quality and does not deliver a good experience, sold very well because of great PR and Marketing. In that case the company did a good job and marketing their game, but did NOT a good job making a high quality game that delivers a good experience. Sure, if a game with great quality that delivers a great experience is a niche game, than i don't expect it to sell millions. BUT, in my opinion it still "deserves" more sales than a game that lacks quality and doesn't deliver a good experience, but did sell well because of good marketing. Too bad, though, that most people in here just name the games they don't like, despite the quality and/or experience it delivers. |
But quality is subjective...maybe you can make the argument that it deserves a higher score but NOTHING is entitled to a dime of the consumers money.
What would be more appropriate to say for the text in bold, however is " I want *blank* to sell more" as that shows no sign of entitlement and it is probably what everyone is trying to say.
N64 is the ONLY console of the fifth generation!!!
Mw2 over 19 milions across Pc , 360 and Ps3 plus 6 milions downloads ... pure hype...
Assassin's Creed for sure. Killzone 2 and World of Warcraft as well.
