Yeah, monster strength is unaffected by the number of players.  Which is unfortunate, because they're too much for one player, and too little for four.

wait the monsters get stronger???

that explains a lot of things

I think he means "stronger than offline."

Ok so are they stronger than offline or not?

Yes: they just don't get stronger depending on the number of players.

OK I can't beat Barroth urgent :/ Anyone wanna help? I can get him limping but can't beat him.

Online? I could help tomorrow, perhaps (finally off work, w00t).

Shouldn't be that hard if you've got the kind of armor and weapons that handle 5-star quests offline, as that's equivalent to sub-high-rank (3-star) on. Shouldn't be struggling at 1-urgent, unless you've been playing alone.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

If my internet holds up, sure.  Are you in our usual room?

What room is it?

Wisdom 3, City Gate 20, City 20.  I'll see if I can log on, and actually stay on, but...no promises!

Cool. I don't need you for very long, just long enough to get through the last stetch :P

Ugh, it won't even connect to any internet now.  Sorry.  I have no idea what's wrong with the damned thing, or how to fix it.

@Soriku: If you get him limp, you could just catch him.

@blunty51: In my last post I meant that you need wyvern stones or other rare material to build high rank armor, not for the upgrades. However you don't need them for upgrading low rank armor to high rank armor. For example, if you upgrade the baggi armor from rank 2 to rank 5 than no rare suff is needed. In fact the only high rank material which is needed is great baggi hide, which is the most common carving material. However to build the baggi plus armor you need more great baggi hide than for the upgrade and you also need stuff like bird wyvern gems, coma sacs and flabby hide plus.
