I can not put no cream on my skin but astral but i can shave me self with crusty toes and i dont get spots.

I feel sorry 4 ya kid. i am so glad me i sna like dat

This whole thing about my age is kind of weird

Half the men in my family can't grow beards. My father can't grow a very decent beard, and makes up for it with length.

I like the idea of a straight razor, but I'm afraid I would end up decapitating myself

HAHA i read me mesage and reading it back to myslef it dont make sence lmao

But you knoew what i ment. Its funny you say that because most of myu bro's get spoty when they shave. The skin cuts and everything.

But mine dont. I could have me hair off with  a disposable thats been used by 10 people and nothing would happen 2 me. I just cant use soap or razor cream. I can only use astrol

What does Tim use to shave?

Tease.

I've never had a problem with my King of Shaves razor. Never used a fully disposable though, just disposable heads.

Always been too afraid for my jugular to use a cut-throat razor.a

This is why I go electric.

Me too.  Also, I wish i had an almost non-beard.  I freakin hate shaving.

By the time that I'm done shaving, the first place that I starting shaving is already growing back. Watch me closely for five minutes and I'll go from baby's ass to ZZ Top.

I use the Gillette Sensor XL (three blades for the closest shave, ever) but one day I plan to grow a Zangief beard just to see if I can do it.

That is why I started using a straight razor and never looked back.

Currently, I use disposables, but I'm looking into a Dovo or even better, a Hart Steel.

It's amazing how much cash you can save by going the straight razor route. Much better shave, too.

Listen I'm curious about this straight razor deal.

Is it not true that they are expensive and also likely to decapitate me?

Actually, straight razors are significantly cheaper.

I currently use disposable straight razors which cost me $2 for 20 razors...They last about as long as regular disposable razors (about 4-5 shaves).

You won't get cut if you know what your doing. You can't just take the razor to your face without any preparation, and not expect to get nicked up a little. But if you take time to learn how to do it - preparation with a wet towel, shaving cream, and learn to prep your beard, its a much better shave. I'm looking to upgrade to a much better razor, which will cost a little more, but compared to cartridge systems, it is much cheaper in the long run.

AFAIK, cartridge systems (like a Gilette Mach 3) cost like $5 a cartridge and last about a month, right? If one lasts you a month, you'll spend about $60/yr on cartridges plus the actual shaver itself. A straight razor has a much higher initial cost (if you get a fixed blade)...like $70+ but you don't have any monthly costs, other than the time you spend honing the blade. A good straight razor lasts a few generations, so you definatey do save some money there.

Even if you go the expensive Feather Classic disposable route, your looking at maybe $20-25 a year in razors plus the shaver itself ($150). But you get a significantly better shave. I have a very coarse beard (at 16, I had a full beard about 3-4" long), so I go through a lot of shaving supplies, and a straight razor saves me major money - I've gone the electric route ($20 a cartridge, not close shave), disposable, cartridge, and the best I know of is simply the old-school route.

I'm torn between a Hart Classic (forged in the US) and a Feather disposable (made in Japan)...Both are around $150-$250, but are supposed to be the best of the best.

Oh, and I would say that you can certainly mess yourself up if you don't take shaving seriously. I cut myself for the first time 2 days ago, because I moved the razor horizontally, and got a 5" cut on my face, Shepard in ME2. Not a very deep cut (unless your intentionally doing something, any cut is very shallow), but it was a stupid mistake by myself.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Like yourself, I also have peachy beautiful skin, but I long lost the will to make it smooth. Now I just use a beard trimmer on the lowest height setting so I can have rugged stubble - all year round!

This ^ its genius

This is some pretty informative stuff!

What brand do you use now? If you already said it, I apologize, my attention span is shot for some reason.

And, uh....where would be the best place to buy these things?

I fully agree with this statement. My beard grows as if my roots were on speed or something. Within 2 weeks there is no hope of any razor to take it off and I must turn to something more heavy duty. However since I have to shave every damn day, sometimes twice if I have to look presentable for the night, I have actually used a lot of those disposable razors and it really depends on the brand. Some can't cut anything others will cut open your throat. I have yet to figure out which are which.
