Forums - Nintendo - Can a new Kirby game work with having local multiplayer?

I never played a Kirby game before (Yeah, I know, shame on me) so I was wondering if a Kirby adventure game can work with having local multiplayer. With the super high sales of NSMB Wii in large part due to the local multiplayer aspect I think it would be a good idea to have the hypothetical  Kirby Wii to include it. That's if of course if that type of game can accommodate such feature. It would definitely be a sales booster.

What do you think?

err why would you want multiplayer in a kirby game?

NSMBWii did not sell because of MP, it sold because it was a 2D mario :p

OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO

the only kirby games that don't have local multiplayer were the snes and nes kirby games. Correct me If i'm wrong.

Maybe if it was like Kirby Super Star.

It can, but, who would be the other characters?

Nope, Amazing Mirror (GBA) also had local multiplayer iirc, through the main game.  And actually it was pretty awesome, though everyone also had their own screen.

In Kirby Wii I imagine it'd play more similar to a mix between NSMBWii and the Subspace Emissary mode in SSBB.  It could definitely work though, I think multiplayer's the future for 2D platformers...

hence why I said only the nes and snes kirby games didn't had local multiplayer, the rest of them Im sure had local multiplayer (handhelds and consoles).

Well Kirby 64 only has multiplayer for those mini-games. I think Squeak Squad is also for that, but I'm not sure about that.

I wouldn't mind Super Star or Dream Land 3 styled co-op.

Oh... I thought you said they did have it. :/

Amazing Mirror and Dreamland 3 are the only ones with full multiplayer through the main game iirc.  Super Star SNES/DS has it for certain modes, and some others have it for minigames only (Kirby 64, Adventure GBA & Squeak Squad,)

Ha havent played any Kirby game...

I feel bad about that, but ill buy the Kirby Wii.
