The Super Guide hint system that made its debut in New Super Mario Bros. Wii will return for Super Mario Galaxy 2 but Nintendo are looking at using it differently.

In New Super Mario Bros., you were shown a video guide when you failed on a course eight times in a row, yet as Nintendo's Bill Trinen told Game Trailers TV, Nintendo are exploring new ways of using it for the Galaxy sequel.

"I really loved it [the Super Guide], they used it a couple of ways in New Super Mario Bros. Wii," said Nintendo's Senior manager of Product Marketing. "This time around they're looking at trying to find a way to take advantage of it, maybe improve on, maybe something a little different than what was done in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. But I think it's something that you can look forward to."

Did you use it in NSMBWii? rarely I did.

Oh yeah. There is a super guide on nsmbwii. Funny thing, after finishing the game, I never even noticed it existed. So much for all the meltdown there was before the game was released.

Like everyone else, so far in this thread, Super Guide was a big deal before NSMBW came out. When I bought the game, I NEVER saw it. Until this thread, I never even thought about it again!!

It popped up once for me in NSMBWii when I kept dying trying to find one of the damn Star Coins in a particular level, but I never activated it. I have my pride, dammit!!!

Hmm, I will say this, superguide allows mario games to be more harder, so I am all for this.

I didn't have the chance to try it, because it never popped up.

I actually jumped in a pit 8 times just to see how the superguide worked.

It worked well. Once I used it to beat a level, but when the super guide beat the level, it didn't count. So I beat the level after that. It was just a guide. Mostly, replaced the internets.

Much a do about nothing.
It offers help to those who need it.
It does not bother those who do not.

This is a non-issue.

I'd be interested to see how the Super Guide tackles a fully 3D game.
