Yoshio Sakamoto has told fans not to expect any announcement on the rumoured DS game Metroid Dread any time soon.
Metroid Dread was rumoured to be in production for DS back in 2005 but when IGN asked Sakamoto about the game at this year's Games Developer's Conference, the creator of Metroid said he wished he could put an end to the speculation.
"It's always difficult when people bring up Metroid Dread," said Sakamoto. "The only thing people have heard about the game are rumours. We never had an official announcement at E3 or anything like that. I think there was at one point where a little bit of information leaked, but now we don't know how to really talk about the project. All I can really say is that I wish I could put an end to the rumours!
"I'm not denying the existence of any documents that got out. What we're doing right now, we're waiting and watching and reading the comments to see what people are interested in before we make any comment on the project. So please be patient a little while longer."
Wow 5 year old rumour does not get me excited as of yet. it might happen after-all though.
