Truth is how many Ps3 owners also own a wii, but never play it because it does (i'm not trying to offend) not have the good enough software

I have had a PS3 in my home for months, and it hasn't made me stop playing ANY of my Wii games. Your arguement about not having enough "good" software is a joke.

Its actually an opinion that many people hold, myself included

And I'm sure that the many more people who own a Wii disagree. You have an opinion, not a fact.

You seemed to miss my point, for every person like you, who still plays his wii, there is someone like me, who doesn't care about it. Your situation is not everyones situation. Comprende?

I'm sorry, I thought we were talking about whether or not Move was going to be a boon or bane to Sony, and any threat to Nintendo. Capiche?

With the quantity of software the Wii sells, even in the face of supposed rampant piracy, I would suggest that the number of people who are dissatisfied with their Wii is far smaller than the number of people who really enjoy it.

Truth is how many Wii owners don't own a PS3, and won't ever because they don't care for the types of games that come out on PS3 and/or it's too expensive.

Just because you and many people on a PS3 fan dominated forum think the Wii is lacking in quality software does not mean you are right, or that the whole world agrees with you. Truth, while Sony and MS are scrambling to make profits, Shigeru Miyamoto is laughing his way to the bank.

Valid points imo, but I think for Sony, if there is ANY chance to tap the market the Wii owns, they'll take it.
they'd be crazy not to.

Exactly, Sony will continue do the same with the PS3 (Ratchet, Killzone, Uncharted, etc), but it will use the Move only to "steal" a part of the WII market.

The PS2 appealed plenty to hardcore and casual alike, the hardcore didn't flee being so repulsed by the casual audience back then, why would we now?

Sony isn't changing the flavour of my PS3, they're just expanding it's repertoire. Copying nintendo, but with better tech on a more powerful machine.

well they wont lose me.  i like advancement in gaming in all aspects because it improve my gaming experience.  whether it is user interface, graphics, physics, story and all the other directions for advancement.  the problem i had with the wii was that it only advancement was the interface everything else was still last gen imo. i still enjoyed playing it and never said anything bad about it except maybe about precision and some other things (never used motion+).  it had a great advantage the others didnt have.

oh and people saying about the price, and that it is a copy. there has been know price stated yet and i doubt it will go up to $500, $400 would probably be the most imo.  quite alot of the features have been copied from the wii and there no denying the similarity's that the games have, but there are video's of this tech being demonstrated on you tube going back as far as 2004, and the ps moveye (combined move and eye because i feel sony is missing the point) has the eye as well which was its original purpose, sony identified problems with the camera, like the need for buttons, it was also suppose to do alot more (eyedentify comes to mind).  it was suppose to do everything natal promises.  which is another point, albeit slightly of topic, sony showed respect to wii, were as peter molyneux and microsoft claims natal is new and revolutionary.

You doubt it will go to $500? I was talking about people who don't have a PS3 (since this is all about getting new customers), so it's $300 for the system, "under $100" for 1 controller and game and eye, but what about other controllers? I wouldn't be surprised if the starter pack is $99.99, though I'm actually guessing around $80. And for extra controller sets? It will almost definitely be over $500. People don't buy the Wii for a compelling single player experience (typically), they buy a Wii for a fun multiplayer/social experience.

Again, I don't think Sony will lose fans, but I also don't believe they will pull many in.

my reasoning for it not reaching $500 is that it is trying to get away from being to exspensive  and appealing to everyone (not just casual or hardcore) there its only does everything advertising was based around that point, building bridges and fading the lines and hoping the mainstream is in between.  my first paragraph was based on the thread were its about ps3 fans and we generally do care about a compelling single player experience. we generally care about a all rounded experience.

correct me if I am wrong
stop me if I am bias
I love a good civilised debate (but only if we can learn something).

i disagree..and only more fans will it gain..

lol wii fanboys are having meltdowns in EVERY DAMN THREAD that it's almost sad....no scratch that..it IS sad

lol nvm have fun hating guiz, now apart from the first party games (which are great btw no doubt) Wii will lose it's edge over the competition on the 3rd party publishers pov...and the competition will have their own new franchises that may or may not be successful... :P we will see how well they do after they release the 1st party games for Move, until then c ya
