Forums - Sony - Stig: GoW III engine only running at “50%”

Y'know, I question when developers say that "We used only 50% of the power". Then WHY did you only use HALF the power? =_= Excuses.

People really need to read well and not jump into conclusions just by the title....they are the real lazy ones here

Lazy developers.

Edit: Well I guess not, they are first party after all and first party developers are never lazy.

No install proves they are not lazy.

No it proves they know how to make a linear game.

SW:TFU has a 2GBish install and it is linear so i fail to see your point.

Obviously they didn't design the game around a streaming engine. You know no backtracking, a climbing part to slow the player down, a dark coridoor before a completely new change of scenery etc.

How is making a linear game lazy?

Just imagine future games with GOW3's sense of scale combined with Uncharted 2's beautiful animation. Very nice indeed.

It takes less work than open world games.

Complete nonsense. The work will focus on different subsystems, but the total investment in man years and the polish of the final results don't depend on that.

GoW3 certainly had less work poured into the streaming parallelization than GTAIV or Oblivion, but surely had more work poured into the lighting model or the large-scale physics.

I Dont like such statements or these kind of statements just indicates that they are trying to hide some their mistakes.these developers keeping game in developmnet process for 2 to 3 years and still they are releasing game that can use only 50% power lol i think we are fools or they are trying to make us.rubbish statement

Cant wait for there next game
