ign is good review, but presentation surely cannot be 8.5

I believe IGN's "Presentation" includes innovation, story and length of the game, which are the only 3 little details they weren't 100% impressed by in this game.

OT: I agree that there is bias in journalism, but complaining about the reviews for GoW3 being too low is just fanboyism, tons of 100's and a meta of 94? Name another 8.5 hour long hack and slash (not picking on the game, just saying that's how long it is and most games would get shredded by reviewers at that length) that's at 94 on meta. I now disregard this hiphopgamer as a serious place to get information.

GoW 3 is getting great reviews. The comments in the IGN review make me laugh, can't believe 9.3 isn't good enough for some people.

oh ye yes MW2 did RAISE the bar in graphics departmenet to get a 10 yes? :P Some elemenets will be present in a series,complaining about that is like saying oh man it's world war 2 again or something for a game based off of that. I am very happy with the score so far. But comments made on sites like GT and IGN just annoys me. For example GT gave Uncharted 2 a lower score saying it wasn't innovative enough but gave Halo 3 a 9.9? I mean no hate on Halo but seriously?

Presentation score, I mean I know I haven't played the game yet but it has you fighting on moving Titans? :S And why should 'length' be a actor in a game such as this? It's the ride that matters not the time it takes....then all RPG's should get 10's or something

honestly i could not watch the video...after the whole "setting the bar" rant i had to turn it off...

The idea of a game getting a 10 means the game is utterly perfect in every way, shape and form. Yes as he said reviews are based on personal opinion but like is also said..lets have some common sense. A 10 is perfect...and no game based in reality is perfect...there are always things to improve and people who want more or expect more. thats what makes the gaming industry evolve.

I swear, some people are just whining babies. Sick and tired of those people. Now a 9.3 is a bad score? Just b/c it didn't get 10's from everywhere, they are biased? People, let you bias outside of this please. Hiphop gamer is crap. And no, the game doesn't have to get a 10 from every single site.

In case you all forget, reviews are simple point of views of different people. It's just a way to look at the game from someone else's point of view.

For some the story was perfect, for others it lacked. For some the length was enough, for others felt short.

THIS is the problem when users focus to much on reviews. I've seen games get bashed from IGN for the same purpose that they praised GoW III.

Reviews are there just to give an opinion, and if you people have at least 2 brain cells, you would know that everybody thinks different, and you will get different opinions from different people all the time.

STOP with the crying, stop with the bitching. Get the game, play it, enjoy it, and finish it. That's all that matters. A game won't be better or worst because someone gave a 10, or someone gave a 9.3 >_> which, allow me to say, 9.3 is a freaking GREAT SCORE.

But seriously, he's actually pretty cool and definitely comes at things from more of a gamer's perspective rather than a 'nit-pickin' critic's perspective.

I think his view on Gamespot is well... 'spot' on if you pardon my word play. 2k10 ps3 gets smashed for lower quality in comparison to the 360 version but FF13 gets same score on both version even though there *IS* a noticeable difference between the two... Is some sort of disconnect going on here? I think so...

And in regards to IGN, I don't think the review for god of war 3 was bad. I mean just read it! If anything, they have nothing but positive things to say. I can't imagine how anyone could walk away from pretty much any god of war 3 review and not feel pumped for the game (I've read ALOT of them so trust me).

...The problem though, just like HHG points out, is the final score... I'm a little (alright very much so) baffled on how IGN came to the conclusion that graphics is a 9.5 but MW2 is a 10. I don't understand how sound was anything but a 10. As for presentation, I guess IGN had a thing against the story or somethin'... Possibly. I've heard it's really artsy which could anger some individuals... but the category is PRESENTATION, not story...

So where does the highly innovative FUCKING MOVING LEVELS drop off? How about these awesome and unique boss fights come into play? What category I ask... Graphics? Apparently not because that got a 9.5, plus, set pieces and game design don't really fit into graphics... so I guess the only other option is presentation which mind you got an 8.5. Hmmm... interesting...

I really wish that IGN had some sort of call in show or forum where they answered questions about reviews and discuss particular games in length. Damn, do I have so many questions...
