Your thinking about the media, that was a different issue. There has never been a time on this site where every ps3 thread was hi-jacked straight to hell so consistently.

Every 360 thread isn't hi-jacked either, but these things DO happen. Before mid-2009, the PS3 was the laughing stock of the industry and many threads here reflected that.

Again, I'm not defending it. But to pretend it only happens with regards to the 360 is inaccurate.

Nobody is pretending it happens only to 360 threads or to every single 360 thread but to say it also happens to sony or ninty (which it does) as if it even comes close to level it does on the MS board is missing the point entirely and marginalising what happens.

Saying look it happened here and plucking one example out of the air like people on here do when someone brings this topic up doesn't mean it matches or is on the same scale. The fact this topic comes up so often shows it is a bigger issue on the MS boards then elsewhere.

You will always get problem makers on all sides and threads wont be trouble free. You have to accept some of it as it does happen but when it gets out of hand and many times mostly to one group questions need to be asked.

Still doesn't change the fact that more PS3 owners are posting in this thread than 360 owners. If that is the case, then there will eventually be abuses. I am not trying to argue the merits of PS3 owners over 360 owners. Merely pointing out how many PS3 owners choose to come into 360 threads.

Going further than that, simply look at thread counts on VGC for the console owners' groups:

  • Nintendo - 17,116
  • Sony - 17,747
  • Microsoft - 9,934

Now, if Microsoft has essentially 8,000 less posts, you have to consider that there are less posters that are 360-focused, ergo less 360 owners.

 

Why does it matter if PS3 owners are in Microsoft threads?

As long as they have something interesting to say I don't see the problem.

And it's true that there's more PS3 owners here but that doesn't mean they're all bad persons.

I never said that all PS3 owners are bad. There are plenty of great PS3 contributors such as yourself.

However, like anything else in life, the more there are of something - anything - the higher the chance there are for fanatical people to do dumb things, like be negative about 360 titles. The very same can be said about XBL and the issues of players with microphones and using foul/offensive language. Is the 360 user base bad? No, but because there are simply a whole lot more people with mics, there are more likely chances for abuses.

 

Oh yeah that I agree though.

yeah the site is getting out of control. It won't take long and we are at n4g-levels.

Imagine what would have happened if the clock error in the PS3 happened to the Xbox 360. There was no trolling on the PS3 and for me, that is the biggest accomplishment for the Xbox360 fans ever.



Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Unfortunatly it is because of all the Hate and bashing the PS3 got in it's first 2 years. Do you remember the countless PS3 is finished/doomed threads there was before the price cut rumers last year?

What goes around comes around, just a lot harder. People are just very slow learners I guess.

Do you not see the common denominator in all those threads?

None of those threads even remotely compares itself to anything else not 360 related......you cant show your bias without your preference being in the discussion.....

If something 360 related gets compared to anything else (for example, on PS3), then other people have a right to comment or agree/disagree and let there opinions be known.

Stating your well thought out opinion is one thing but blatently showing your bias is another......here is an event on this site even you will agree with.

Lets say hypothetically that there was a multiplat game that was better on the 360 than the ps3......if someone made a thread about it , it would be pretty calm and there would probably be only one thread talking about it.

Now when a ps3 multiplat is better than its 360 counter part and what do we get? 10 threads about it with people throwing around the words "superior" and "inferior" every chance they get......lest not forget that there were far greater gaps between the multiplat games favouring the 360 with none of this happening.

A reviewer gives a low score to a ps3 game and they become labeled as bias and it becomes a site wide known fact......same thing for a 360 game and nothing happens.

A reviewer says a 360 game is graphically ahead and that thread doesnt last......A dev says the same for a ps3 game and the thread is filled with agreement.

I give a ps3 game a 7.5 and I get hell.....I give a 360 game a 7.5 and it is ignored.

I know you are refering to Final Fantasy XIII here, so i will answer it like it is Final Fantasy.

It is a rare occasion, simply for the games history. But here are some points to note...

  • Final Fantasy, to the majority of PS3 fans, is the best RPG you can get.
  • Final Fantasy XIII before E3 08 was dubbed as one of the best (and to some people the only reasons) reasons to own a PS3.
  • Final Fantasy XIII, when announced for 360, was always going to go under scrutiny over which version would be "definitive". It is a rare exception in the "PS3 vs 360" thing. The same would happen if by some miracle Gears 3 would be going to PS3. It is VERY likely that the 360 version would be superior... And it's also very likely that 360 fans would rub it in when all they got was "Dear Sony... Thanks for giving me no reason to buy a 360" threads.
  • It's a rare occasion for the PS3 version to be superior. When the game is as big as FFXIII, you can bet that people will milk it.

I think people need to stop with it. It's ruining this site immensely.

There was a comment I disagreed with just tonight in the Sony forums. I PM'd the person in question, as to not derail that thread with 360 fanboy outcomes. If you dont believe me ask CGI. IT was him I PM'd.

IF I'm considered what is the most exastive 360 fan on here and I dont troll Sony forums with games I'm likely never to buy, then why do so many PS fans do it. Hell those loads of Sony threads I disagree with. But you dont se me trolling every Sony thread.

Every single 360 thread gets I reckon 70% posts from Sony fans with no intention of ever buying the game. So why comment? The threads get derailed and then locked by some random mod. Why have the mods not spotted this?

Something needs to change, because it's getting as bad as the GAF.

I'm surprised by that. I didn't think Ninty had so many threads. Regularly the 360 section on the main page only has a handful of threads but I do find it surprising as I thought the ninty sections aren't that busy and there are usually more 360 stories on the net.

Guess Nintendo fans post quite often. Will have to start going back into that section.
