Seems like they are assuming that when PS3 gets down to the $199 and lower price all of a sudden the former PS2 owners will run out and buy themselves a PS3. I think there are a large number of PS2 owners who have gone to 360 or Wii this gen and will sit PS3 out. But what a lot of those people will be waiting for will be what's on offer next go round. If Sony does the PS4 right then the PS2 owners might come back to Sony in fairly large numbers. And if it's b/c with PS3 then even better for the PS2 crowd, they won't have missed out on anything.

I think Viper1 is up to something, those data is not for you guys its for the invester!! doom and gloom for Wii so those dummy investor out there will all jump boat and low nintendo's stock then these analyst will buy up all the nintendo stock. As for the HD's dummy buys they sells :)

Sony can barely get 100k PS3s in America every week. It has been 3 1/2 years and the PS3 just passed 30 million; how is it going to sell 97 million more? WTF? I like how they attribute most of the upcoming decline to the Wii as well, as if it only managing 33m more in the next 3 or 4 years wasn't bad enough.

The final straw that broke the camel's back: The PS3 will still be viable a whopping 5 years after the Wii's successor releases........unbelievable.

Well the PS3 did do very well.  It made so much money in those first 5 months that they moved Ken "The Father of the PlayStation" Kutaragi to his amazing new office in the center of the Earth where nobody will ever hear from him again.

To the analyst: I believe the proper phrase here is, 'you fail'.

Time will reveal all. I've always said tho, that it will hit around 100 mil and others have always laughed. The way this gen is going, late start and all, it's a possibility. Hay, just look at Blu-ray now and all the BD was never gonna be a success threads. And now it has blown all expectations.

One thing is for sure, if SONY can pull it off, they are legends!

Not a chance. Although the PS4 will probably be the last of the next generation of platforms to be released, all three (plus any newcomers) will be released within about one year of each other.
