seems Sega undershipped this game. I'm predicting it will be $19.99 in 6 months. I will wait it out. I'm glad the game turned out to be a quality JRPG.

Massively. Like they didn't even want to sell it.
What the hell is wrong with Sega?
Feel bad for Tri-Ace. They aren't having the best of luck this gen. :(

JRPGs don't sell as poorly on the 360 as you think. Infinite Undiscovery for example sold over Half-a-Million, which isn't bad for a JRPG with no pedigree (It's still a great game though-I own it). And then you look at something like Folklore which sold what: 200k? Ouch!!! It was a good game too!
Plus, compare 1st week Star Ocean 4 sales on each console. 114k on PS3 262k on 360. Plus 1st week sales were better in Japan for 360 too. I'm not trying to be a jerk or a fanboy, all I'm saying is that you're posting on the forum of a website call vgchartz, there are more than enough tools here for you to do research on before posting. |
Do you realize that most of those Xbox 360 JRPGs where massivly overshipped and that most of them where cut in price after a couple of weeks? I saw both the The Last Remnant and Infinite Undiscovery for 30 euros at my local gameshops two weeks after there respective release dates, and the Xbox 360 version of SO:TLH was already slashed in price in July! For a fullprice, nobody except a small hardcore, buys them in the west for a fullprice.
Finally getting a chance to pick it up tomorrow. Living in the countryside sucks.
That, or... *Shakes fist at Sega*

GameInformer: 6.75/10 "Overall, Resonance of Fate may appeal to the JRPG connoisseur who is looking for an interesting and challenging new take on combat. Others most likely will be thrown off by the silliness, steep learning curve, required grinding, and other pains – especially when there are so many recent well-rounded RPGs out there." |
wow what a joke of a review
its like they wanted to give the game less than an 8
When will they understand not every game needs to be a WRPG Clone.
All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

"Resonance of Fate certainly did not please everyone and it is primarily a way for players demanding challenge. But if you know where you put your feet, you'll find one of the best Japanese RPG ever happened to us on this generation. The baby tri-Ace is completely against the grain of her young colleagues, but that is precisely what makes him an exceptional game."
GamesRadar: 8/10
"And yet, if you’re serious about diving into an RPG and are prepared to push beyond its abrasive features and discover the potential locked inside, Resonance of Fate will prove to be the sensible choice. Its clumsily paced cutscenes still manage to flesh out more likeable, funnier characters than Final Fantasy XIII does, even with its Hollywood production values, and there’s definitely a whole lot more to keep JRPG old-timers enthralled."
GT video review:
They gave it an 8 for the ones who dont' want to see it.
So I just beat Chapter 3 and good God, the boss there gave me a hard time. You definitely need to strategize and play it smart. I haven't acquired new weapons yet (the only one available is pretty expensive). The story remains dull and vague, but the characters are pretty awesome.
I got some neat stuff for Leanne - some hair dye and eye lenses.
