Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Anyone else love the "Nintendo" cycle?

I agree with some posts here, there are people on both sides complaining when they are not pleased. I like a franchise for what it is and has established itself for, so when Nintendo changes what I liked about the game its kind of frustrating.
I always wait to play the game before making a judgement because Nintendo has proven that they can take a franchise, make changes and make it better than it was before. Problem is it doesnt always work. Example: Star Fox

He's trying to call out the "people" who hate everything. Of course he's referring to the internet, in which millions of people share opinions, so there will always be someone who doesn't like something (sometimes for good reason).

What Smoked hostage is doing is taking the entirety of negative opinions expressed by anyone for anything, and lumping them all together. If person A doesn't like a new direction of a game, and person B doesn't like that a game plays the same, despite being two different people with two different opinions, they are now those hypocritical people who whine about everything.

Generally, if you intend to rant on or stand up to the views you feel are expressed on the internet, it helps best if you can call out a specific group of people or a specific incident.

If he could call out some people that complained about how Punchout!! did nothing new but are now complaining that Other M is too different, well then he'd have something.

I know people who had fanboy rage when Wind Waker was revealed, and yet once TP came out the very same people praised WW and raged on TP.

Probably the best example of the cycle I can think of.

Pixel Art can be fun.

"Starfox should stay Starfox.

All I'm going to say"

You change your mind depending on the game, huh.

We all do it, this is nothing new. Just because some people are worried about the New Metroid doesnt mean it's a bad thing, it's just what people do.

If the game has Fox McCloud and it's entertaining, I'm not complaining.

Also I'm guilty of falling into the cycle.

I like anything good, I personally wasn't a fan of sunshine, so I guess maybe I fall under one more than the other, but I liked wind waker and TP.

What I do hate is GTA new direction (another topic almost related to this one)...I want over the top, not realism.

Indeed the good thing is im getting use to wanting it a certain way and when they change it loveing it just as much if not more. I guess sometimes they really do know what I want better. Except for StarFox I was one of the ones that said "StarFox should stay StarFox". Meh. win some lose some.

Edit: Actually the OP makes alot of sense now that i understand it. good one on ya.

I don't care what the new direction of Metroid is. I just want a new Metroid.
