Nope.  The DSi has a 1000 free points promotion, but that ended in October.  New DSi's might come preloaded with Opera & FNS though, I'm not sure?

It's much cheaper than I expected. Check the Japanese pricing.. the cost increase is much higher than they're charging. Their profits with XL will be smaller than with the regular DSi.

In a way this kind of reminds me of the Lite which in America didn't get a price increase, they sort of took the revenue decrease in to keep lower prices in America, which they didn't do in other places. The Lite was about $20 more expensive than the regular DS in other regions.

Plus the XL is shiny, and the Lite also introduced shininess to the DS. I kid you not but the gloss is one of the reasons why I really want one. I only have a Lite and XL to me is like plus beauty and everything I want.

So there is a legit reason, not excuses.

I'm not sure about getting anymore of the DS until after E3, regardless of price.

When it came out, ill buy the normal DSi, just because it will have a price cut.
