Two things I think about the DSi XL costing $189.

And these are not preloaded with the regular DSi?

Nope.  The DSi has a 1000 free points promotion, but that ended in October.  New DSi's might come preloaded with Opera & FNS though, I'm not sure?

So there is a legit reason, not excuses.
