Forums - Sony Discussion - Sega has betrayed me (Yakuza style) *cries*

http://au.ps3.ign.com/articles/107/1071367p1.html

"The content between Yakuza 3 US/UK and Yakuza JP is a little different in that we took out certain bits in order to bring the game to the west in the time alloted for us to do so. The parts we ended up taking out were parts that we felt wouldn't make sense (like a Japanese history quiz game) or wouldn't resonate as much (such as the concept of a hostess club)," the rep told IGN. "We didn't replace the parts we took out, but we made absolutely sure that the story continuity stayed intact so that the story experience was the same as the Japanese version and that it didn't take away the human drama so inherent to the Yakuza series."

That was quite the dumb move Sega. I can only ask why.

"We'll toss the dice however they fall,
And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

I seriously could not believe they took it out. Did they think they were gonna get more audience by appearing less Japanese from its omission? Seriously Sega, learn your freakin fanbase.

The game only has JAPANESE AUDIO!! You seriously think people that are 100% happy to get this as a sub is gonna turn their nose up at a Japanese history quiz and a HOSTESS CLUB???

Dingbat and son of a gun! First being launch at the same time as Final Fantasy and now this. Why is Sega such a masochist?

Maybe the ESRB had something to do with this? Still, I doubt that it would have affected the M rating, and that it would have made it AO. The game wont sell tons anyways in the west, and I doubt that this will help it out...

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

Screw Japanese history quiz, but that hostess club might hurt :/

MY HYPE LIST: 1) Gran Turismo 5; 2) Civilization V; 3) Starcraft II; 4) The Last Guardian; 5) Metal Gear Solid: Rising

Well history quiz kinda makes sense.
I don't think I'd want to check everything in Google.

Yeah, Sega.
In time to compete with FFXIII and GOW3, huh?

Ohh, and the hostess club wouldn't resonate much with a Western audience?
Worst excuse of the year.

I won't be getting this for now.
Maybe for 10-20€.
Might import the Japanese version...

Looking forward to: FF Versus XIII / LBP2 / The Last Guardian / Yakuza 4 / ICO Collection

Yakuza 3 : Where Will you go for Love?

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

no Mahjong + no Shogi = no buy

I guess I'll have to import after all
