you guys with 360s think its another dante's inferno, or baynotta, but sorry based on early reviews its one of the biggest games of this generation.

Visuals that surpass Uncharted 2, a CONSOLE SELLER.

So we really don't know if everyone that wants GOW 3 has a ps3.. you could say everyone that wants HALO REACH has a 360.. and in reality we don't know any of that.

You have to realize GOW Is a PS2 franchise, and its moving onto the PS3, so that audience is likely going to get a PS3 to play GOW 3, like the MGS fans got a PS3 for MGS4.

Dantes inferno ill agree with but bayonetta is better than anything that has come out of santi monica ever......unless GOW 3 revamps its combat system then it will also be under bayonetta.

Bayonetta was a piece of crap on PS3 from a technical perspective. And God of War is more accessible.

Ive only played the ps3 demo (no tech problems) but while the full game may have had rediculous tech problems but ve heard since the patch released that it fixed most of the problems.

Accessibility is the problem I had with GOW 1/2.....the combos were repetitive , there were barely any combos to speak of (the important ones were all automated like L1 and square) there wasnt any incentive to use the other weapons as their weaknesses were just stupid and each weapon had like 3 combos each , only area effect magic was useful like poseidens rage and chronos rage.

Everything you've just described is what makes it accessible. Which is easier, learning ten specialised combos or 400 combos involving complicated button sequences, 90% of which you won't use?

What makes God of War appealing to many is that very fact: you aren't flooded with huge numbers of combos. The combos are easy to perform. The challenge comes from the stronger enemies; how you use the combos, how you move, block and evade; the timing.

This doesn't necessarily mean that it will sell gangbusters. It just means that people with no interest in other hack and slash, such as DMC and NG (like myself) could be huge fans of God of War, and while many of these people would already own PS3s, quite a few would not. And then there's the crowd who was spoilt for choice on the PS2 and never owned GoW1 or 2, but who see the trailers and advertising for God of War III, and it looks exciting, and they buy it.

That's enough for a 50-100k boost, I would say.

Before I start let me say that I actually like the GOW series as it is my second favourite games in hack n slash right after bayonetta and although I dont believe it will sell the amount of systems based on GOW 1/2 performance it will sell a little more than both of them though LTD.

Now back to what we were talking about......the accessibility you speak of really hinders a game with very limited replayability to begin with. If I go replay bayonetta right now I can tackle each level with a different weapon and different combo list with each weapon actually having some use.

Although alot of combos are in bayonetta , its not complicated to pull off from most of the combos and some youll find easier to pull off  than others but its done in such an elegant way that by the end of the game you will have your own favourite weapon and have done about most the combos for that weapon at least once(they show you a tally in each loading screen) and still have more to discover that will make you go "wow I should have done that before". In GOW , I know everything I need to know about the combat system in 5 minutes and leaves no surprises later on.

In short bayonetta is as complicated as you make it , someone can play the game without playing a HnS in their life and still enjoy it as the elegant combat system and its epic single player will leave you wanting more. In GOW , there is no incentive to play the game again as youve done everything there is to do in it and seen everything there is to see in it in the first 5 minutes.

God of War allows you to grow stronger. Your weapons become more powerful, and you learn more combos. You even gain new weapons and magical abilities. The combat is easy to grasp, yes, and that's no bad thing. But it changes; you don't fight skeletons who die after one powerful attack for the entire game. Enemies get stronger, you have to use new strategies, coupled with your new combos, weapons and powers. And then there are harder difficulties which unlock, to keep you coming back. But replay value isn't really relevant; we're discussing accessibility. By definition, the game which is easier to learn is more accessible.

The franchise moved from the PS2 to PS3,so I'm sorry for the people that are underrating the game's potential to move hardware.
Fable II moved 360 hardware by 10%,the game releasing in America only, now GoW has a much bigger fan base than Fable, and the game is releasing in both America and Europe in the same week, and also GoW III is looking to be even bigger than Fable II.
So i would expect a hardware boost around 20-40%.
So...75k-100k is looking to be the highest boost it can get.

A.  A 10% boost heading toward holiday is different than one in March.

B.  How do we know it was because of Fable?  Numbers go up and down 8,9, 10%  all the time.  Wii sold about 10% in Americas last week versus this week.  What game came out last week to drive higher numbers?

C.  A game releasing in in year 3 of the generation is going to be more likely - on its own - to persuade someone to buy a console than a game in year 5.  More people have made a choice of one (or two or all) systems.  More people are going to evaluate the whole catalog.

To whomever said "It's like saying Alan Wake won't move 360's".  Do you really think some obscurely named new IP is going to have people rushing out to pick up 360's?  No one knows anything about that game except for the people on sites like this.  And 99% of us have our consoles already.  Alan Wake on its own moves zero 360's.

Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?
