I don't think anyone knows right now. I got this from Wiki though...

"Alan Wake, a bestselling writer, has not written anything in over two years. Now his wife, Alice, brings him to the idyllic small town of Bright Falls to recover his creative flow. When she vanishes without a trace, Wake finds himself trapped in a nightmare. Word by word, his latest work—a thriller he cannot even remember writing—is coming true before his eyes."

ahh cool thanks haha :)

Yes, what Carl wrote is everything you need to know. I recommend you not to watch any of the upcoming trailers or gameplay, it's only gonna reveal stuff that you want to keep fresh.

Yes, you should strongly consider buying this game. Gonna be incredible.

TBH it sounds like it's borrowing elements of Twin Peaks, Silent Hill and the movie From the Mouth of Madness (or something like that, a John Carpenter flick about a novelist who goes mad as his horror novels start to become real around him).

The video clips I've seem particularly look to me like a US version of Silent Hill - i.e more thriller than horror.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

I think he's also meant to be suffering from insomnia so there's sure to be some abiguity as to what's real or just in his head. Hopefully it will be clever like Fight Club, with a twist at the end.

It's about flashlights, books, and bulldozers, from what I can gather. It looks pretty, though.

Its about 50% similar to Silent Hill Shattered Memories.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

They've been real tight-lipped on it, which IMO is great! The game stays shrouded in mystery and is a selling point for many as is. He's looking for his missing wife, from there it's mostly a mystery.

Personally, I don't like when thriller/horror games' stories are revealed too much, so this is welcoming.

Yep. For me this game is about suspence, the unknown and is a psychological thriller. If you know the story or even parts of it it ruins the experience.

Ir reminds me a little about Secret Window.

I LOVE ICELAND!
