the way I figure it...I've already beaten AVP 2...but I have not beaten this. That makes it better :)

yeah, MP is really good. No need to worry there as you will have fun with it...

Single player is what most reviewers seem to be complaining about but from what I've seen, its quite solid as well...if you like corridor shooters and don't mind dated graphics that is.

u just convinced me to get it haha

after playing SO MUCH mass effect 1 and 2 i think i need a break from that type of games 

so AvP is gonna feel like a fresh air to my gaming choices

I didn't know it was a game. I thought it was just a movie. But I loved Doom 3 so I might check this out.

Well I only played an hour as the marines and about half an hour as the Alien, but I would say it's a pretty average game.

The graphics aren't even that bad, but the sound of you radar makes you want to puke, the flashlight is useless and they fucked up the console controls IMO.
Alien was alright so far, but also nothing impressive. You miss your target quite often even though you're pointing exactly at him and the jumping/running across all the walls makes you dizzy.

Thanks man, and yes reviews are faulty now an' days, this atleast deserves a rent, i hear predator is under-powered though.

Who cares if it scored 70's in meta, personal taste of the gamer > metacrtic and any other reviewer website, its like "SOME" people feel whatever online reviews say thay have to listen.

Though gotta admit i felt down with the WKC reviews cuz' i expected more, i still got that game and its one of the better RPG's this gen imo.

What are you comparing it to when you say its pretty average? 

Do you find the shooting mechanics bad? I find them pretty intense and tight... there are many set pieces which involve holding ground until an eleveator comes or till a door is hacked. Those parts are intense as hell I find...which is good.

Its a corridor shooter, does that make its ambitions average? I don't understand.

Also, I find the radar sound awesome cause it creeps me out any time it picks up anything and is straight out of the movie...

The ping noise is just like the noise in the movie, just like the pulse rifle/smart gun noises and the aliens screaming noises are all authentic and would cause a shit storm if they changed them. The radar ping is especially awesome because just like the movie it causes tension when you see movement on your radar but not in front of you...
