She didn't like it at all so I only really played the single player a for a few short tries. I was reading IGN's review of the Step & Roll game, and they say the balance board controls work, but it is a lot harder. They remove obstacles to make it "fair" compared to using the Wii Remote. They also said the controls were essentially the same between the two games. |
I thought that the controls on the main game were perfect. Every slight movement of your hand is replicated in the level. If your hand slightly shakes, the world slightly shakes. You only have yourself to blame if you fall off of the world.
That being said, the controls are only good for about five of the fifty minigames. Many are completely unplayable. It was like the developers decided that they were going to make fifty minigames because they decided that it sounded like a good number and put out a bunch of unfinished ones because it was a launch game.
I don't hold this against the main game which I thought was fantastic. If the controls are the same for the new game I will pick it up. By the way, thanks for going to IGN for me. I am still most disappointed in myself for going there that one time recently.

Here's the steps to completing Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz: 1) Beat all eight worlds. It's not that easy, but a lot of people have struggled through it and claim that the have beaten the game. I know better... 2) Get crowns on all eight worlds. In order to get a crown on a world, you have to complete all ten levels on it without using a continue. This is enough to get someone to scream profanities at the screen and make you want to go find whoever designed these levels and force them to watch Norbit one hundred times in a row. You have to do it on World 1 in order to be able to do it on World 2 and do on. Trying to do it on World 8 is enough to humble anyone. Doing this on all the worlds opens up World 9. 3) Get a crown on World 9. This is even harder than getting a crown on World 8 since World 9-6 is by far the hardest level in the game up to that point, and the other levels on that world aren't cake either. After taking what seemed like forever and a day, I did this and opened up the second secret world. Yes, there is a World 10. 4 a) Complete World 10. This took me until last night. It's because of World 10-5. 4 b) Beat World 10-5. Not only is it by far the hardest level in Monkey Ball history (this is saying a lot), but this is probably the hardest level that I have finished in my life (this is saying even more). It's so hard that I completed all other 99 levels in the game and stopped playing the game for over two years because of this one level. Thousands upon thousands of deaths tested my mettle and forced me to give up, and I don't give up 99% into a game. A couple of days ago I decided that I should try to beat it since there is now a new Monkey Ball game that I will probably pick it up soon. After playing World 10-5 for about two hours a day the last a couple of days I finally did it!!! Anyone doubting the difficulty of this level should check it out on You Tube. How could they call World 10 Ultra Heaven??? That's the exact opposite of what it should be called. So, in conlusion, I'd like to say that defeating Super Money Ball Banana Blitz is the most hardcore gaming experince that I've ever had. It nearly killed me I tell you. Has anyone else finished all 100 levels? I expect Rol to come into this thread and tell me that he did it in five hours. I also expect Badgenome to make a joke about Monkey Balls and for everyone to laugh. Probably no one will post at all and I'll be just talking to myself... So has anyone played Super Monkey Ball: Step and Roll?? Has it been made easier? I hear that the Balance Board controls aren't that good, but if the Wii Remote controls are the same then that's all that I care about. |
Tell that 2 a Nigerian. Hardcore=M Rated or Soccer. All else=fail.

LOL
I couldn't decide whether or not to say to say that I expected you or Badgenome to make a joke about Monkey Balls. I'm sorry that it wasn't you now.

The game is just way too frustrating and that's also one of the reasons why I won't get Step and Roll. Another reason is because I have already enough of these games (also got Mercury Meltdown Revolution and Marbles! Balance Challenge a.k.a. Kororinpa 2). |
And you beat it in 5 hours.
you forgot to get crown in world 10
I only got to world 9, then I got tired and never got world 10
Wow. Kudos to you, man. I never managed to get even halfway through the game before I gave up and sold it. Didn't have the patience.

Have you ever played Mercury Meltdown Revolution? Hardest game to complete that I have ever played. I have unlock all but the last group of levels and that is saying alot in itself! If there is a harder game to finish I haven't seen one!

No one gets a crown on World 10. No one. Actually there's a video of a guy on You Tube finishing World 10 without losing a single life.
Maybe I'll try to get a crown on it one day. Maybe not. :p
