Yes! I've been waiting for this foorrreeeeverrrrrrrr.
I just couldn't bring myself to DL it on the 360, because I hate the 360 D-Pad.
I am so in love right now. *drifts away*

This is true for you and me, but a lot of Wii owners
1. Hate the 360 D-pad (this is somewhat true of me too)
2. Own neither a PS3 or 360

Not Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection, Sonic Mega Collection, originally released for GameCube in 02, then ported to PS2 and Xbox with a few extra features. Works fine with 100% Wii backwards compatibility, and the lovely GameCube controller.
Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Oh, gotcha
I think I actually own that on my PS2
Is nice

Really? In what other compilation/re-release of Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles can they be combined? |
Combinable in...
NOT combinable in..
...doesn't matter it's not the first time though, VC emulation is probably the best thing there is next to the Genesis originals or Sonic Jam (which was reprogrammed ground up). M2's work is noticeably more accurate than the other collections or XBLA (both in resolution and sound emulation).

Oh, I see. Since it wasn't combinable in the latest compilation I asumed that it wasn't in the earlier ones.
I LOVE ICELAND!
Now that we've got S&K out of the way, we need Sega/M2 to finally announce SegaCD/32X support for VC and we can finally get all the 2D console Sonics in one place.

Very happy.
Actually, right now I don't have any Genesis Sonic game on the Virtual Console. It's because I have Sonic Mega (and Gems) Collection on GameCube, which I play all the time (now through the power of the Wii!). However, I might just buy Sonic & Knuckles... just because.
Also, can't wait for the Sonic Classic Collection on the DS. It's gonna be sweet to play on the go!.

They'll have issues with file size on MegaCD games, but they have no excuses for 32X. Do you know if they have worked on 32X emulation officially before?

They can just use compression for audio/video files like with TGCD on VC. Actual game content filesizes for Sega CD games are tiny, and well within the usual parameters.
If they can get Ys I&II on VC, they can get Sonic CD, Lunar, etc.
