Since this thread actually has some good replies, lets ask it for the Xbox 360!

If you had to pick a single thing that made you buy an Xbox 360, what was it?

For me, it was the library (not necessarily the exclusives). When I buy a console, I have my little formula:

if (# of games I want) * (average price of games) >= (price of console)

If that's true, I buy the console. After the 360 had been out for about a year, it finally had enough games to make it worthwhile and I've loved it ever since!

Games. I really can't see any other reason to buy it (save for the fact that most of my friends had 360s, but that was mainly so I could play games with them).

Halo 3 and the fact that 1 was bored with the original Xbox.

Had friends with it, cost $150 less at the time (August 2008), had a pretty huge library already in comparison.

Halo, Gears, Call of Duty, and the fact that I could. Good luck finding as many people as in the PS3 thread.

I was missing out on a ton of exclusives. So I went ahead and bought one.

I bought it because it was the first console out for the next generation. I didn't own the first Xbox but I am glad to have picked up a 360. It's my favorite console this generation and Xbox Live truly shaped console gaming.

I wasn't a fan of any brand in particular. But I was a member of MS Expertzone.

I purchased the XBox 360 Pro with Blue Dragon and PGR4 with two wireless controllers for only $199. I also got Halo 3, GoW, and Mass Effect for only $10 a piece. That was enough to make me a 360 fan.

I was also able to purchase another Xbox 360 Pro for my brother for only $99. He was not a big gamer by any means, yet he plays Halo 3 almost every day.
