I haven't noticed much slowdown. Yesterday there was over 7000 people browsing for about an hour, today had over 4000 for several hours today which is a little more than normal too.

It's not as pretty with a couple of empty holes, but if you disable flash the site is *much* *much* faster.

When there is a lot of guests on, make sure you are logged on... as ut makes a big difference.  (Can take a minute or two for it to take effect).

Can you disable flash for only certain sites?

Not that I am aware of.  It is easy to enable and disable it globally with firefox though.  You don't even have to close the browser.  You could disable it in one browser and leave it enabled in another.

Same problem here, it started happening when VGChartz dropped the white background

That's because white background VGC wasn't bloated with zylions of flash elements and crappy ads located on bad servers.

I'm only capable to browse VGC on netbook when using no flash and ad+ equipped firefox.

Ya. I have been having problems with the site for about a few months now. If I open multiple tabs of this website it just crashes my firefox browser. I know it is not my computer or internet because when I go to the engineering computer labs at my college it is just as bad.

What's the point in having multiple tabs open, anyway?

The site has been as quick as other sites for me. But i do have a rules when it comes to ads. If it hangs up the site it gets blocked, if it talks it gets blocked, if it pops up, over or under it gets blocked and any kind of malware gets blocked(and its domian). So over the years here i think i got everything but the text ads blocked, thats probably why it's fast for me.

I am not noticing any connection issues.

I am connecting with a 2mbps DSL line using Mozilla Firefox 3.6 to browse on Windows XP Professional (Oct. 2001 version)

I use NoScript and it allows you to block out individual websites. Out of like 10 websites that are linked to this page I only have a few allowed.

Same here and it's been like this for at least 6 months. It loads super slow. I assumed it was due to heavy traffic and/or slow servers. Because it's got nothing to do with my comp or connection being slow since all other sites load very fast. I find it quite annoying.

Strange, so it's always slow for you during the last 6 months or just sometimes?  If it's always slow, it can't be heavy traffic and/or slow servers, as the site sometimes only has 1000 users only, and other times 8000.  If it is traffic related, that should have an impact.  If it's always slow, then it's probably your computer, and the other sites just have less flash and can't handle this site.

Site is fast for me most of the time.  I get slowdowns more often from IGN.
