The d0med alarms are exaggerated, anyway, Wii still has at least this Xmas and the 2011 quite safe even in Japan, not to mention the rest of the world were is still 1st yearly by a decent margin, although not invincible anymore. Nintendo could need to release Wii2 before Xmas 2012 only in Japan, WW only if it wants to do a simultaneous release. Anyway, 100M sold before Wii2 release is almost sure, 110M easy, 115M not impossible. Lifetime sales, OTOH, depends on how long Ninty will keep on selling it after Wii2 release, but beating PS2 is not out of reach, despite the sales and market share lower than in its best days. But a zenith and a decline were predictable also for the almighty Wii. The only negative aspect is that by the end of this gen Wii's dominance in Japan lifetime sales and market share could be not overwhelming anymore. Maybe next gen, having seen Wii's total sales, third parties will be a little bit more Nintendo-friendly, not for love, but for interest.   

With GT5 delayed, and in the best case overlapping with later Xmas boost, PS3 maybe lost two possible weeks' lead, although by now a performance considerably better than last year compared to Wii is almost sure.

PS3 wins this week by 6k! Winning streak is now 11 consecutive weeks, can Kirby cut it next week?
Also noteworthy is the fact that PS3 is 1 week away from reaching the same amount of weeks won vs last year. It's 22 won this year vs. 23 from last year, do you think it will reach it, surpass it? Will it reach 27 weeks to achieve an overall yearly victory over the Wii???

The minimum goal of bettering last year's performance should be at PS3's reach, but if GT5 gets delayed beyond 2010, overall victory becomes more difficult.

Yeah, Nintendo really fucked up Japan this year :/

It was doing so good in the beggining of the year thanks to NSMB Wii and then they just let momentum go again. They could have easily surpassed 2009 sales in Japan if it wasn't so bad now, I'm not so sure they still can.
