Forums - Gaming Discussion - BFBC2 was...uhhhhhhhh oh dear

I really like the demo but..

I get dropped from the servers all 4-5 minutes (it was the same with the BFBC1 demo), which is why I sadly won't buy it.
Really, I have a 16mbit adsl2+ connection with fastpath and usually get pings between 10 and 50, so I have no idea what the problem is and can only guess it has sth do to with my setup here, which I won't change only to play this game.

Hmm guess i'm the only one who thought the demo was great.

the game is a million miles better than Mw2...which sucked horribly at balancing

Totally agree!

Disagree, it's not better than MW2, it is very different, I can't compare them at all but I do love both games!

Same here, I know what I'll be spending my weekend on.

i agree with this post

For me it's the best FPS multiplayer since Halo 3.
It's so much fun to play with three friends in squad and then break through enemy lines...

Edit:

I really can't understand any of your compains.

-The medic is very usefull-has a heart defibrillator

-one grenade

-knife

-destructible environments-houses can be totally destroyed

-lots of vehicles

-characters can choose extra-equipment

-armed mini-drons

...

BF BC 2 is will be the best FPS 2010 next to Halo Reach.

I don't see anything wrong with the visuals.

they arnt great at all in that photo, and in action its even worse!

haha look at that helicopter

Its a beta of the multiplayer... Its obviously not got any textures on it, that doesn't imply at all for example that the end product will have no textures as well.

Do you know what its like to live on the far side of Uranus?

canceled my per-order after the beta, god I hope they don't ever ever ever refer to this game for battlefield 3, not even the destruction.

It's clear they want a chunk of MW2 crowd, so the dumbed the crap down of battlefield.

Bad company 1 remains the closet thing to a battlefield game consoles will ever see, and even that's still a far cry.

What was wrong with it?

easily the worst class system implemented in a class based shooter, they might as well just let you choose anything and just made them custom loadouts, no health, stupid re-gen, no knife, gernade spam, graphics are crap (no that's no cammo -_-), controls are funky, damage system takes a page outta MW2's book. Now in no way did I expect this to be BF3, but I did expect it to better than MW2, still a battlefield experience,

bad company 1 problem was it didn't have nearly as much content as expected from a battlefield game, I thought bad company 2 would just add that content, but nope, a whole new game, seeing how EA were so gung-ho about beating MW2 I should I probly expected something was up. They made a battlefield game that the MW2 guy would enjoy, Not a battlefield game for Battlefield gamers, as the op has said, this isn't for the core gamer.

Im a little confused. "no health" what that mean?

"stupid re-gen", means that health regenerates? I dont like that.

grenade spam - means u got many grenades (and not just 2 or3)? I love grenades though

"no knife" - who cares

"graphics are crap" - you need new glasses

"controls are funky" - okay, but maybe i'ts becuase u play on a console?

Considering that there is indeed a knife in the game and that I've spent a few hours in the demo and only died once by a grenade (besides, you only get one), I'm a bit skeptical.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

wow I didn't realize bc2 had no health and it regen'd. I hate that. Guess I'll skip this one. Better be back to basics on BF3.

So is there a health meter or not? (not for enemies, not for oneself?)

And health regeneration, is it full or partial regen?

I've played the demo some more, and I have to say, I like this much better than MW2.

Most of the time I play as a medic, as keeping people alive on the frontlines is vital, and revival is even more important if you're on the attacking side.

I really like the slightly slower controls (a small Killzone 2 vibe), and all destruction you can inflict as it can actually change up the game. Just to mention something

You can't see your own health, but you can see healthbars for your teammates (though I play as a medic, so that could be medics only for all I know). I think there is some regeneration, but I honestly don't know how it works. My guess is that it is very slow, but there none the less. In the heat of battle, you still need medics if you want a useful healthboost though.

It might not be that helpful, but that's what I've been able to gather
