Thanks for the links. I did predict it would happen, but didn't think it would happen so soon.

Has been available since launch, they had TV advertising for LBP prior to its launch and at the end said "free with PS3 purchase"

Yeah I am going to have to nail you on those bullshit remarks. Firstly I am going to go out on a limb here, and say you hate 360 exclusives, because your a Sony loyalist. Otherwise why hate games you have never played, and do not own a console on which to actually play them. You seem to spend a lot of time hating things that do not actually involve you. That is an unhealthy obsession you have going there.

Secondly 360 exclusives are actually a more varied selection then you will find on the PS3. Which is actually becoming the shooter box which you seem to despise. What room have you made in your preconceptions for Fable 2, Viva Pinata, Kameo, Tales of Vesperia, Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Forza, Banjo Kazooie, Kingdom Under Fire, Naruto Rise of a Ninja, Infinite Undiscovery, Alaskan Storm, Beautiful Katamari, Cry on, Culdcept Saga, Lips, Ninja Gaiden 2, Project Gotham Racing, Scene it, Star Ocean, Spectral Forces, Warhammer, Your in the Movies, and many other games that do not come out of Aliens. I suggest you take a good hard look at the PS3 exclusives list. LittleBigPlanet did not just erase the fact that the PS3 is delinquent in offerings for a more sensitive segment of the public. Which you proclaim that you are.

Speaking as to sales of exclusives that are not Halo or Gears. Both Project Gotham Racing titles have sold over a million units. Forza 2 sold over four million. Fable 2 is marching towards two million. Viva Pinata sold over one and a half million. Kameo, Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, and Ace Combat 6 have all sold over half a million units. So I think you will understand if I say your full of hot air, and baseless accusation. Many of those titles I listed were highly rated as well.

The moral of this story is don't apply stereotypes unless you have taken the time to actually examine what a consoles library is. I can tell you this the 360 is probably less heavy on futuristic shooters then the PS3. More to the point the 360 has a lot more soft titles then your probably give it credit for. You say LittleBigPlanet, and I say Katamari, Kameo, Pinata, and Banjo Kazooie. I really think your doing yourself a disservice if you prefer these games, because at least to me it looks like you picked the worst console of the litter.

I've said in quite a few thread that I was interested and still am in Fable 2 & Tales of Vesperia. And I don't understand what you mean by "PS3 becoming the SHooter box"... How many shooters have SONY been show casing alot for the past year....... 4??? Killzone2, Resistance2, Socom, And bearly MAG. THat doesn't seem like much at all to me when I look at the other games on and coming to the system like FFv13, GT5, GoW3, Naruto UNS, Singstar, InFamous, Disgaea3, White Knight Chronicles, GT5p, Demon Soul, Little Big Planet, Way of the Samurai 3, Eyepet, and other stuff that am not gonna bother looking up.  The SONY bashing is just getting annoying...

And none of those sales seem to come close to or sell as fast as Halo 3, Gears 1 & Gears 2.....

Really??? Haze, Resistance 1, Resistance 2, Killzone2, Quantom Theory??? Anything I'm missing???

When did I say it didn't??? I would also say the 2 Rathet and Clank titles, Eyepet, and a few of the games on PSN. The dude that I was replying to was pretty much IMO saying "down with casual/Soft and up with HardCore" And I was saying not everyone want's purely Hardcore games all the time.... :S

This just tells me that we don't have the same opinion on games :S... Ok... so??? I wanted LBP, All future possible Jak games, InFamous, Killzone2, FF13, FFv13, GT5, RE5, GoW3, Tekken, White Knight Chronicles, And Devil may Cry all on one system.... So in Dec 2007 I bought a PS3... Is that so wrong??? I looked at current and up coming games for all the systems b4 I picked my first one this gen and am still waiting for reason to buy a wii.... I have a ds. And in other threads I've even stated that I'm waiting for 360 to give me more reasons to buy other than Fable2 and Vesperia.... Or maybe I'm lying because am a SONY loyalist who owns a DS... :S

You just made my point for me Sony steered hard on first person shooters during the last twelve months compared to Microsoft. Can you really think of a exclusive first person shooter for the 360 out of the last twelve months other then Gears of War 2. Meanwhile Sony had Unreal Tournament, Haze, and Resistance 2. Expanding to shooters both consoles have parity according to this site. The 360 has thirty listed while the PS3 has 31.

Others have pointed this out in the past if their is someone going after the shooter market hard its Sony over Microsoft at this point in time.

@Dodece

Gears 2 isnt a FPS...

Also, HAZE isnt a sony ip, neither is UT3.., and UT3 released on the 360 not too long ago.

Timed Exclusive and 360 Got an improved version this past summer I believe... Look it up.

You said something related to PS3 was slowly becoming the Shooter box that I hate right??? 1 shooter?? That's bearly a difference....

Similar to how MS going after the RPG market??? Sony for a while now hasn't been doing well in America, what better way to help the issue than with shooters??? MS hasn't been doing well in Japan... what better way to help the issue than with RPG's???

@leo-j

You sir are correct drink it in Gears is a third person shooter, and not a first person shooter. I was so intent on giving him any FPS exclusive it slipped my mind. I would prefer to not use the shooter category, because well Ratchet and Clank actually fall in that category as well.

The discussion is exclusives period. Who makes the exclusive is irrelevant to the point. Just as the type of exclusivity is irrelevant. With Haze Sony acquired an exclusive most likely through a generous donation to the developer. Unreal Tournament was a timed exclusive that does not mean it was not an exclusive, or was intended to have exclusive impact. The same way Bioshock, and right now the Last Remnant will serve Microsoft. We can also assume in both cases that Microsoft pushed for the exclusivity.

Some of you need to quit sipping on the LBP haterade. Its arguably the best game that has come out this year. It is just so fun!

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Can anybody think of a game that

A) started this slow, and
B) made a huge amazing comeback, and
C) wasn't on the Wii?

I can't.

I hear some people (DmesiterJ I think, Leo-J maybe) bring up Uncharted in this regard.

Uncharted was bundled throughout Europe and they kindly forget that.
