Forums - Website Topics - Hmm… Does This Site Feel A Bit More “Meh” Than Usual?

IDK this site’s really been feeling a bit dull for me recently. Like a bit more than usual. Anybody else in the same boat as me? Or am I alone on this? I just feel like there’s never really any activity beyond the same old “Physical media is DYING!” or “Console sales are PLUMMETING!”

Maybe I’ll consider doing more threads again… the only issue is that it’s either I obsess about this site or I have little interest. Being that I have a very important exam for my master’s coming up, I feel like maybe the latter is a safer route. But I don’t like being so unexcited about this site.

(I suppose you could label this as a “Venting” thread lol.)

This site, and any other video game sites, is only as lively as what the generation brings, and this generation has been "meh".

If only you were here during Gen 7, it was just fire everywhere lol

Perhaps one of the big 3 consoles needs to go out of business so that there can be some stability again.

Well this is a video games sales data website/forum and console sales haven't exactly been looking good recently other than the Switch 2 and by far the biggest video game related news lately is Sony killing off physical Playstation games so those two being the dominant subjects currently is natural really. Discussion on the latter will pass though for the former things are only gonna get worse next year and the PS6 and Xbox Helix won't exactly help much with how expensive they'll be so the future of the sites main point of interest is entering a horrible spot unfortunately. More discussion on other things will need to make up for that.

You’ve been here 3yrs, this site has been a slowly burning dumpster fire for over a decade.

Imho, most of the site's small user niche here are Nintendo fans that prefer Nintendo products.

That said...

Nintendo's current game lineup is extremely mediocre. Pokopia delivered something interesting for the "comfy" segment, but the rest leaves much to be desired in a, so far, very weak year.

Add to this the lack of information regarding *Zelda: OoT* (specifically whether it will be a 1:1 remake or a reimagined game) and the fact that many here hold *
GTA VI in utter contempt.

Yup... makes sense. One weak after " Playstation hate festival" people stop and keep waiting something new to (over)hype, or hate.

Not really in the mood to argue, but you do realize a major first-party game dropped last week, no? And also a few weeks ago. And then the week before that. All of this in addition to the Xenoblade upgrades and E3 leaks.

ResetEra remains exciting and same with X. This site just feel dead and barren.

Probably because of the shitty news we have gotten over the past month. People just feel less motivated to talk about gaming I think. I mean this site is never really that "lively" anymore. I kinda like that personally. Just a chill site and not hundreds of posts every minute.

To me, there's nothing wrong with the site. In fact, I think we've had a lot of things to comment on these last months

Correct me if wrong... The list is:

  • Yoshi and the Mysterious Book. 80MC
  • Star Fox Remake. 81 MC
  • Splatoon Raiders. 81 MC

With all due respect. Not major games... More like small games that barely manage to reach 80's and likely not making a single blip in the radar of most gamers. At best "B" tier line.

And Xenoblade upgrade... it's just a upgrade, for real!?

Nintendo needs a new Zelda, 3D Mario, Smash, "Good" Pokemon games... That are some of the big hitters. Again, with all due respect, games listed are all small and of minor importance.

Imho, Zelda OoT needs to be a true "Banger", or 2026 will be a very weak year for Nintendo first party.
