Forums - Nintendo - Would You Purchase The Ocarina of Time Remake As An $80USD GKC?

With news that GTA VI will be $80USD CiB, I’m now curious: Would you purchase a GKC version of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake @$80USD? Honestly with all that happened with Tears of the Kingdom not only leaking, but being fully playable prior to launch, I’d imagine Nintendo is certainly considering GKC. It would not surprise if that’s in fact this is the route they do choose to pursue.

(Maybe it should go without saying… but yeah I would absolutely fork over $80USD for a Zelda GKC.)

Well, we already know all Nintendo first-party only release on card, so this isn't exactly an issue, but yes I would lol. One of the few games that I would pay that price for.

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind

I would purchase a physical copy of the Ocarina remake for $80, sure. I wouldn’t purchase a GKC, no matter the price.

All Nintendo-published games on Switch 2 have true physical editions (minus Pokopia, which was co-published), and I don’t expect that to change, especially not with a Zelda game.

As much as I like Ocarina of Time, I have my reservations with expanding it into a big modern AAA game. N64 games' scale was much smaller back in the day, allowing for tighter and more focused experiences, I fear they'll just bloat the remake to justify this price.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

No, there is no game I would pay that much money for. There's nothing about a remake of a nearly 30-year-old game that justifies that high a price.

A remake of an N64 game is not worth $80 no matter how good the graphics are. Unless they expanded the game a lot, hell no.

They should not be charging the same for this as a brand new AAA Zelda.

Assuming the game is really great and not a GKC, then yes, I would pay $80 for the physical OoT remake... and I fear we will have to. Hopefully, there will be stores out there that will offer the physical game for the digital price (like Amazon with Starfox pre-orders) but I wouldn't bet on it with Zelda.
