This thread will be dedicated to any changes, updates, and improvements to the website.

If anyone has suggestions feel free to post in this thread. 

Our very own Bandorr has been working on a list of changes to the front page and other parts of the site.

Front page changes and fixes:

• The "Forums" section was cleaned up slightly by removing the words "in" and "Discussion"
• The "Prediction League" has been moved from the left column to the right column, so there is one less section to scroll through for people on mobile.
• The "Latest Software Updates" has been changed to more closely match "Latest Charts."
  • Some minor tweaks are still being worked on like making the image clickable and adding the transparent orange when you hover over the image like what is seen on other clickable images on the front page.
• Fixed "Weekly Hardware" and "Monthly Hardware" links.

List of front page changes to be implemented:

• Headers - Make headers with a color background to make them standout more and increase font size. Change header font on desktop to match mobile font.
• Combine Weekly and Monthly hardware charts into one section called "Hardware" with ability to swap between them with Monthly visible by default.
• "Forums" section - Change left and right arrows part to a drop down list with option to turn on/off different forum section.

This site needs a retro section of the forum.

Retro topics could be posted in the "Gaming" section (https://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/board/3/gaming/ ), but that is a good idea. I will pass it on to the team.

First off, thanks to Bandorr and anyone else behind the scenes who is working to make the user experience here better.

I have a few things and they’ll all be mobile related as that is currently the only way I use this site:

1. In the VGC Buddy when I go to look at something an error code pops up three times that I have to close out.

2. When I go to Charts in the header rather than letting me choose an option it automatically chooses Platform totals. It isn’t that big of a deal since that is where I’m trying to go, but it is wonky.

3. It would be nice to have a “scroll to last post” on a page to get to the last post, and even “scroll to top of page” to get to the top (when I’m trying to check out the poll results for instance). The link to click on te most recent post is nice, but if you accidentally click it it’s gone for good and getting back to that place can take a lot of swiping.

I’ll stop there. I’m not even sure if these are things that could be fixed, but those are my requests.

Bandorr has fixed the links on the front page for the "Weekly Hardware" and "Monthly Hardware". The weekly link was broken altogether and we changed the monthly link to go to the monthly hw_date tool rather than the weekly one.

Happy about the retro idea. I've been suggesting that for a long time.

If you are not seeing any threads in the "Retro" section in Hot Topics be sure to turn them on. 

Go to https://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/forums.php#content -> Click "Show filters" -> Checkmark "Retro" and any other sections you want on -> Click "Save"
