The problem with that request is it's really a test of self control.

It would have to be a setting, and one that only works when you are logged in.

So you'd have to have the self-control to A) Not change the settings back and B) Not just log out.  You'd log out and you could see the votes.

I've experienced various forms of something like this.  There is something you want to do but shouldn't. So you make it harder for yourself. But eventually you get tired of that extra step. So you make it easier again.

So it's better to just work on the issue of "big number good" instead of trying to add a hurdle.

Adding the extra hurdle, in my experience, tends to be more than enough to stop me from caring. I don’t care enough to go into my settings to toggle the number. Also when you log out, the number is hidden. No idea if that’s intentional though.

Anyhow, if you aren’t interested in adding the feature, then that’s all good. Nothing more than a minor inconvenience. Plus building self-control is always a good thing.

It is still there for me. We don't have plans to make changes to the site. At least not right now.

I'm a moron.  I had java script disabled to bypass a paywall on another site.  That was like a week ago and I had forgotten about it.  Turned java back on and all is well with the world again.

It is still best to let us know about any issues with the site. We are a small team and can miss stuff.

There should be an option on the "Publisher" label for games in the Data Base to have an "N/A" option. For instance, I'm trying to update the release date on Phantom Blade Zero but can't since it requires the publisher... only problem is that S-Game is not an available option.

I believe @Machina knows how to add a publisher to the GameDB.
